Are you kidding? There are as many versions of that myth as there are fundamentalist denominations.

Actually look in the book of Revelations, if anyone can show where is says "rapture" then I will pay them money, its a non exsistant term that got added by pre mellenial disponsationlist, also know as Calvary Chapel Church. Rapture is just some made up fantasy so that people would work like cogs in the machine, also in Revelations it talks about the "renewal" of all things meaning were stuck with what we got it may get better may not but were going to fantasyland.

There is no scriptural basis for the rapture. It was invented by a defrocked Anglican minister named John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) and introduced at the Powerscourt Conference of 1832. It was popularized by William Eugene Blackstone in his book "Jesus is Coming" (pub 1908) and by the "Scofield Reference Bible" (pub 1909). No reference to such an event exists in any Christian writings prior to that.

Kirk Cameron will come down and show you his banana. If you beleive that his banana has *appeal* the banana turns into a giant yellow limosine and you and Kirk will ride through the pearly gates together.
