Only boil em for 10 to 15 minutes, then let them cool; too long and the yolks turn gray then black.

If you want a good hard boiled egg:
Cover the eggs in cold water, about an inch above the egg level. Once the water comes to a boil, remove from heat and cover. Leave the eggs in the water for 15 minutes and then put them in cold water to cool. This will help keep the yolks yellow. Also, it is best to use older eggs---maybe a few days (not fresh from the grocery store), as they will peel better.

Boiling too long just makes the yolk ugly. Just boil em for 5 minutes, turn off and let em sit inteh hot water for a coule of minutes. Then drain eth hot water and fill with cold tap water. once the eggs are cool enough to handle you can peel em. The fresher the egg the harder they are to peel

they should taste fine so long as the pan did not scorch
they may be a bit tougher to peel and your yolks may turn a bit green instead of bright yellow

the only time you can boil an egg too much is if it explodes.
but other than that, you can eat it and enjoy!
