They seem to come out with these phrases when they get excited and I am curious as I thought the bible warned us against those who speak in tongues.

They are supposedly speaking in tongues--many people believe that the Holy Spirit can give people messages and they speak them out in tongues, BUT the Bible also says that there should be an INTERPRETER. I think that people who do that just do it for show. I may be wrong, but that is my belief. I remember one guy that I once knew who would always say the EXACT SAME THING every time he was "moved" to speak in tongues. He would always say "hala mashika" every single time. i don't know what, if anything, that means, but that is what he said. Strange, to me. Makes me uncomfortable.

It is speaking in tongues. The Bible does not warn us against speaking in tongues, but it does say that each event of someone speaking in tongues, should have with it a translation. When spoken it blesses the speaker, when translated it blesses those that hear. Tongues should not be spoken without translation.

No language I know of, except perhaps the language of greed. I'm not a believer in speaking in tongues; even if I were, the Christian scriptures teach that if there's a speaker of tongues, there's ALWAYS an interpreter. Haven't seen good ol' Makeup-face Bob in years (I used to live in Dallas). Didn't he get indicted or something?????

They are speaking in tongues. It is very much debated in different religions. Some say it does not exist any more and some say it does. Best thing is do research your bible on what it says then you will have it straight from the word of GOD. Look in the new testament if you are interested.

The Bible warns against false tongues. What you are hearing are those whom are slayed in the Spirit of the Holy Ghost.
