Basically, I am interested in two things:

1) Which denomonations of Christian believe that sex before marriage is a sin.

2) Even if such a thing is ordained, do Christians who follow such Christian sects generally speaking abide by such a rule?

Officially all prohibit it. Unofficially all but the most extreme conservative sects (Amish? Hutterite?) pretty much live with the reality which is that kids reach sexual maturity long before modern society allows marriage. For some reason Catholic school girls get laid pretty young, on average. I suspect it's the uniforms.

Duh....all demoninations forbid their followers from practicing sex before marriage...Sex before marriage is called "fornication" and the 1st book of Corinthians Chapter 6 verse 9 states

" 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,[a] nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God."

However, there's mercy if a fornicator repents and turns away from such sin.

To answer your second question, yes...there are Christians who abide the rule. However, there are some that make the mistake as well.

I can't think of any Christian denomination that doesn't discourage sex before marriage. I'm sure there are more liberal individuals within these sects that have no problem with it, but I don't think any major denomination believe it's ok. That obviously doesn't stop people from doing it though, people have sex and do every other sin that is discouraged, some just choose to ignore that part. And sometimes people just mess up and fall into sin despite what they believe.

I would hope that all of them do, since sex outside of marriage is strictly and specifically forbidden in the Bible.

Some Christians do abide by that rule. Most of the Christians I know were virgins up until their wedding night, if they were Christians at the time.

I didn't abide by that rule, though...but then again, I've only been a Christian a few months.

All bible believing Christians think sex before marriage is a sin, all denominations. That's not to say the rule is followed by them all, but they would claim it as a rule.

As far as I know, every Christian sect forbids it. I would say that most Catholics don't follow that rule. I didn't but at 45, I've only had two sexual partners, and one is my husband.

1. Any denomination that claims to be a christian denomination should be against fornication because it is plainly forbidden in the bible.

2. As a teenage christian - many denominations say that they preach against fornication(is. sex before marriage) but I have been in youth groups where it is not preached against as wrong but that WHEN you do it be safe.

Any sect that doesn't forbid fornication, which is clearly condemned in the Bible, shouldn't call itself Christian.
