He never said that you would always be up on top of that mountain. It is said that you will have hard times also. Being a christian is not always going to be easy.

Because when you become a christian you don't automatically become perfect, it takes time to re-learn the patterns of our old way of life and change to the new way. I don't like to just quote bible verses but it's comforting to stand on the truth of certain verses
'No temptation has siezed you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.' (1 corinthians 10:13
Most people are unaware what the way out is, and I won't simplify it. Tempation must be dealt with at the first sign of temptation. As soon as you feel a temptation coming on, be it looking at pornography or grabbing a biscuit, take the thought captive and give it to Jesus - he died to free you from the hold that temptation has over you. (2 corinthians 10:5)
This may take practice so don't beat yourself up. God isn't angry or disappointed with you, he is waiting to pick you up and start again. He doesn't mind how long it takes.
Some people I know have done a period of prayer and fasting in order to break free of things they struggle with. Jesus did say,'when' you fast, not 'if', so it's a good biblical principle.

Because we are only humans not perfect like God and Jesus bridges the gap from us to Him so that we can learn to be what God truly wants us to be! His and only His!
And besides the fact that Eve that trick ate the fruit from the tree of knowledge and caused all of the temptations to fester into our hearts/ minds and etc. If she didnt do that, we would of never known about temptations.

Darlin, we put our faith and trust in Jesus and trust Him to help us overcome our old temptations. That doesn't mean that He will take away the temptations. It simply means that He will help us to overcome the struggle that we battle 24/7. We are only humans, and Jesus understands that our bodies/flesh are weak. Thankfully, He loves us anyway.

If we struggle with old temptations, it probably means that Jesus is not our all in all.

No one knows why but, who said following Christ would be easy? St Paul warned that you would be beset with temptation and he points out in his letters to the Corinthians were they have possibly unwittingly fallen to evil

Because we are still in our mortal bodies and they are corrupt because of original sin. The flesh will always want the things of the flesh. I just praise the Lord that He is not dealing with us in flesh but in spirit.
