I need help here, pls say anything u feel will b useful!
I feel, to a certain extent that i scare away boys that are interested in me after they start knowin me properly. Or maybe they just lose interest, i dunno tel me wt u think is wrong. I'm suspecting that i set the standards too high; i want 2 have intellectual debates with anyone i go out with nd i believe in treating a girl wiv respect, politeness, etc. Boys approach me VERY frequently, all sorts of them; and they say stuff like i'm very attractive, sexy, beautiful, pretty but the ones that i'm interested in and start talkin 2 never get round to asking me out and i havn't a clue why, wats wrong?
I'm just wondering if anything i've said so far or any of the qualities below are a turn-off.
-quite sporty and has a slim, athletic but feminine build. UK size 8, US 4. im 5'5''
-academic babe- i'm a law student :-)
-not on the wild side (good girl but not goody-2-shoes)
-doesn't follow d crowd
-socialises, bt not a partyanimal!

travelingurl81; Why did you come here to show me and the public that you're such a shallow, dim woman?? Why? Don't you know there's a character limit to asking questions so i might have talked in 'chatspeak' purposely? Is that really all you had to say, anyway? You forgot to mention that you're retarded so you can't follow what i'm writing. I sympathise with you.
Clearly, you're a vacuous person who has nothing to contribute to this discussion and gets gratification from insulting people, please register yourself into rehab. You can leave your useless comment here and embarass yourself more or you can delete it. It's up to you, pathetic woman.

You're not that academic if you're using chatspeak like a 12 year old. Try your question again in correct English.

Have to agree with travlingirl81 on the chatspeak. You should ditch it. Other than that, you sound like you're doing great. You say you like to debate intellectually, and that you are a fit, feminine, law student. That's fantastic.
No turn offs on that list for a good man. Stay true to yourself, and continue to search for a man who is worthy of your time and special qualities. There is nothing wrong with you at all.
It IS possible that the young gents you are meeting are simply intimidated by your curriculum vitae, and your ability to think independently? Weak men often are.
Where are you meeting these guys?
Perhaps you should consider fishing some deeper ponds.

Don't let people bash you, like the first person did. An intelligent person could realize that you used "text chat" because you have a limited number of characters and were trying to fit all of your info in.
I agree with the second answer, try working on your self esteem... and perhaps you just haven't met the right person yet? It sound slike the guys that approach you ar eafter one thing... and it's not a relationship where you can have an intellectual debate.
I would just contnue to work on yourself. Look for guys in the right place, too... for example, if you have attractive classmates, etc. If they're doing the same activity as you when you meet them- that right there is one thing you'll have in common!
But, again, please don't listen to mroon's who just want to come on here and dis you. That's pathetic.

It is possible that they are intimidated by you. Or they don't feel like they could get you into bed. Don't forget at this point in time most guys are interested in one thing. Or your standards may be too high. What I would do is talk to someone you wouldn't normally fall for. Get to know them personality wise and see what happens. Or you can try asking the guy out that don't ask you out. If what you say is true there is no reason why a guy wouldn't be interested in you.

If you are attracted to the kind of guy who will get into intellectual debates with you, then these kind of guys are usually on the shy, reserved side i have found. They might not know you are interested in going out with them. You should try making the first move next time and see what happens.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. You will go crazy wandering what is wrong with you. Trust me. All you can do is be who you are. Sometimes you have to wait a little longer than other people to find somebody right for you. The anticipation just makes it all that better, I think. You sound pretty cool to me, so don't worry. Live your life and have faith that the right one will come along someday.

Sounds like to me that you are rather egocentric. You should let others voice there own opinions with any sort of rebuttal even if you believe that your way of thinking is always true. Know wants to lose every arguemnt against someone and it seems to me that no matter who or what the arguement is about you would rather die than sub cede a point

I would suggest you work on your self esteem before any more serious dating. You sound like a very nice person that is letting insecurities get in the way of love. Believe in yourself and have some confidence, but always act in such a way that keeps the nice boys around. One you believe in yourself, you should be all ready for a serious romance.

Are you too opinionated for the type of guy that interests you? Are you always right? Do you always have to be right? Do you really like men? Are you interested in sex with a man?
If you answer truthfully NO, NO, NO, YES, YES, then keep looking you will find the right guy, otherwise change.

maybe the guys that approach you are looking for one thing and then find out you're more than pretty and not dumb and easy. just be patient, the right one will come along. many of the sweet and smart guys may be too shy to approach you.
