i tried to look on hotels.com priceline orbitz and they have nice one bdrm suites but they are like 290 per night!!

The Hampton Inn in Littleton,NH is nice.
You didn't specify that you wanted a cheap place,try any one of the bajillion effing bed & breakfasts up there.

I've been to Portsmouth before and stayed in a Marriott Courtyard. I think the suite had two bedrooms, but I'm sure there are some with one rooms...sorry that's all I know, it was a loooong time ago!
