please do not be nervous..they might just give you a filling..or tell you you need a crown..doesnt mean you need a root canal...only if it really starts hurting alot. if you are that nervous ask for sweet air..even before you get a needle..it will help you relax at your dentist appointment..tell them you are really nervous and need sweet air...hope that helps you

If its white then I think it might have gotten near to the nerves. Most importantly though, is that its not black. Thats a sign of a dead tooth. For now, just relax and of course avoid using it. Gargle with mouthwash to keep it clean and it should be no prob. When you get to your dentist, Im guessing if its not too close to the nerve, he will just cover and reshape it with porcelain. Otherwise, he will have to make his own decision on what to do, but dont worry, I bet they will just cover it! Its not all that painful either... they might insert a little pain killer so that its nothing at all. and the covering part doesnt hurt at all.... my little pansy of a brother has his tooth fixed and it didnt even bother him. I really hope this helps! Just relax, it'll be fine! Take care! :)

no. root canals are for deep in the root. if the issue spread down the root, it could be bad. but if its a surface issue, a filling would do. They will numb you and i found that not being nervous is the way to go. They will give you more novacine if you still feel it. Believe me I've been to 4 different dentists in a 5 yr span.

your tooth is supposed to be white inside unless you exposed the nerve in the middle which is reddish.

He will probably just glue a piece on or put on a whole veneer.

Red would be bad because living tissue would be exposed and that would hurt and maybe even get infected. White is probably ok. . It should not be painful to fix.
