Red wine is personal preference, I react badly to heavy tannins so I stay well clear of Pinot Noir. I appreciate light reds so I drink Cabernet Sauvignon based reds the most.
Your body needs no wine to function daily, If you are going to drink daily, drink no more than a 250mil glass a day to stay under the UK's RDA.

Its just the pure test of red/purple grapes. At any point of time, the taste of the wine is because of the grapes.
