You have to take care of your hair for a start. Once you have split ends the only thing for it is a cut, which is harsh but true. Be careful when your hair is wet, don't ever brush it just comb through genly to remove snarls and tangles, and with curly hair your fingers are probably best, as even a comb may cause a frizz explotion!

L'Oreal Elvive Repair and Protect is a good product that improves the elasticity of the hair so it won't break so easily. If your hair is long, Trevor Sorbie does a great line in specialist long hair care that might also work, as does Garnier Fructis. Use an intensive mask once a week and make sure you leave it on. As hair is dead and there isn't an awful lot you can do about that, the best you cn hope for is to smooth the cuticles, which means it won't snag so easily on brushes and you should get less breakage.

Oh oh oh: diet! This is an old story but you are reall what you eat, and your hair is not a seperate entity so also very much affected by your food choices. Healthy oils gives you shiny hair!

first i would start out by cutting off the split ends so your hair grows healthy. I also would use the oil method in your hair to make it less dry and frizzy. It will take a couple of shampoos to get all the oil out, but just rinse and repeat a couple of times while in the shower/tub/sink. I also reccomend frizz ease shampoo/conditionor to leave your hair silky smooth and soft.
e-mail if you have any questions! i'd be happy to chat
good luck!!<3

p.s. also be sure to let your hair air dry to minimize the amount of split ends you get, and if you straighten your hair go to your local salon and get a product to protect your hair, not only from split ends but also from the heat of the straightener

Hey-
I have thick, wavy, soft hair(the kind that attatches to your face as soon as it even senses humidity) and Ive had good luck with Biosilk* Silk Therapy anti-frizz smoothing serum... I love this potion, because it protects the hair shaft, smoothes hair out, and really feels like silk! Its not sticky or gooey, I swear! The thing is, it costs a pretty penny ; at around 25$-30$ a bottle (depending on who and where you get it from.I recomend only at salons.)Its money verrry well spent though!!
I STRONGLY recomend their Fruit Cocktail conditioner as well- its so smooth and non-sticky that you can use it for lotion too! I also like Sunsilk leave in conditioner (the pink colored bottle) and its cheap(walmart, under 3$) Hope that helps fix some of your hair woes!! *******

1] trim hair at least every six weeks until hair is in better shape - the splits travel up the hair shaft.
2] use a shampoo/conditioner for dry, frizzzy hair.
3] use a deep conditioner 2- 3 x a week
4] shampoo - comb hair before. Wet hair. Apply 50 cents worth of shampoo to palms, rub together, and apply to scalp, not hair shaft. Scrub scalp, not hair shaft. Rinse.
5] conditioner - apply 50 cents worth of conditioner to hair shaft, not scalp. The new hair and your scalp don't need conditioning.
6] Blot hair dry with a towel - don't rub - wet hair is fragile.
7] comb hair with wide tooth comb - don't brush - wet hair will
break and split.
8] avoid blow dryers, curlers, straighteners, etc, when possible. If you must, use them with a thermal protector.
9] eat a quality diet with lean protein, low fat dairy, whole grains, and lots of fruits and vegetables.
10] drink 1/2 gallon of water a day.
11] take a good multivitamin with minerals every day.

baton twirler; hair doesn't split by itself, you do it when you
1. comb through when it's damp.(do wet or completely dry)
2.part hair in sections and comb out any knots from the ends up.use a wide tooth comb not a brush.
3 always use a conditioner or rinse hair with 1oz of lemon
juice and 7ozs of water.split end come from stretching the
hair beyond it's tensile strength

I'm assuming that you are Black, if so...
You should get your ends clipped once a month.
Use little to no heat on your hair.
Use a light oil on your hair.
Condition your hair once a week.
