I get sick of it too, but sweetheart, you'd better get used to it. I'm a Gordon fan tried and true, so I always catch a lot of crap. Getting cussed out at races, getting bashed on forums, I've been through it all. It's just something you have to put up with when you root for the best. People will always hate the best, you can put every dime you have on it. But just look at it this way, Jeff doesn't let it bother him, so don't let it bother you. Take pride in the fact that you root for a winner.

Good question. Gordon rarely has anything bad to say about anyone, he isn't arrogant like for instance Barry Bonds of baseball is, yet he get's boos and jeers almost everywhere he goes and Barry doesn't catch near the grief Jeff does. But for the kind of money Jeff Gordon makes, I don't think he gives a crap, he totally focuses on what his job is, drive to win and win he does. Most Nascar fans have their favorite drivers and a lot of them are the good ole boys and the likes of Tony Stewart etc. The fans are just taking out their own favorite drivers poor driving this year on Jeff. Like I said, with the money Jeff is making and knowing he plays by the book, he's honest and a good sport, I am sure he sleeps well at night. I would love to see him start wrecking people like Dale Sr. used to do and really give them something to be mad about. Gordon is also like the Yankees, you either love him or you hate him. I think he's burning the track up and I'm loving seeing him on top of his game.

I'm sick of it. Everytime a question comes up about how bad They hate Jeff or Hate this one or that one only supports my opinion that to many people have closed eyes and heads. Wake up out there. they all have the same change. Just because Jeff is doing good now doesn't mean it will continue. He can get caught up in someone else's mess or have a bad pit-stop or car trouble at any time, just like everyone else.

Hi, I'm Linda and I am 60 yrs. old and have been a Jeff Gordon fan since he started Nascar almost 20 years ago. I think it's a disgrace when people throw beer cans and such at him. He is a fantastic driver and he will be a Champion again many times before he is finished. He will always be a Champion to me.

This happens frequently in pro sports. You have a dominant competitor such as Jeff Gordon who is at the top of his game and who has many fans, then you have the fans of the others competitors who wish their man or woman was on top and they take it out on the dominator by insults and even hate mail. Jeff Gordon is one of the best drivers in the sport and he handles this "making fun" of him very sportsman like. Oh, and he also is laughing all the way to the bank, will those middle income rednecks think they are getting to him.

I really get sick and disappointed that there are so many people that can't say nice things about a lot of the drivers ( Jeff Gordon Jimmie Johnson, Dale Jr etc) I was always taught that if you couldn't say something nice about somebody then you didn't need to say anything. ( in other words shut up ) I have no real #1 driver since Dale Sr died. I simply enjoy several. Everybody should be able to enjoy his or her own favorite driver without bashing someone Else's. You can disagree or argue about the drivers as any fan of any sport might do, but there are people on this forum that get darn-right nasty in their opinions and thumbs down other people's opinion. I thought that we lived in the USA where freedom was still an option.

I'm a fan of Jimmie Johnson so I feel connected to Jeff owning car 48, but I think most people hate Jeff is because he does win, I find that they hate Johnson too and I have never heard him whine or belly ache when he crashes or runs out of fuel. They just hate them because they win so I agree with you, don't be sore losers just root for your team and don't worry about hating someone you don't even know!

He’s a gentleman who always seems to keep his wits about him in adversity or bad situations. Case in point, after he and Tony Stewart got together at Watkins Glen, Stewart went into an expletive-laced tirade launched directly at Gordon.
Gordon gave some of it back, but he didn’t feel the need to four-letter word his rebuttal while doing it. The same two tangled at Bristol and Jeff was practically laughing about the whole thing.
Could it be that Gordon is hated so much because he beats all the other drivers? Because he is a winner? Because he has a beautiful wife who is right there with him win or lose?
Or, could it be because he's on a winning Winston Cup and Craftsman Trucks Series team that rarely falters? Rick Hendrick knows how to build a winner, and more importantly, how to keep them a winner. His teams may not win them all, but they can never be counted out.
America seems to always root for an underdog as opposed to a sure thing winner. It makes it more interesting to follow. Back to the movie reference -- would you watch it if the ending were so predictable?
Whatever your reason for disliking the possible soon-to-be five-time champion, get ready to yell a little more and a little louder. If history is on his side, he’ll need to get some more Brasso to shine all the hardware that he’s going to get at the awards banquet.
Keep yelling Gordon-haters, Jeff can hear you -- but it doesn’t matter.

Jeff Gordon had a great teacher, Dale Earnhardt Sr. It's not his fault that he jumped on the band wagon when other drivers didn't. What he was told to do is how is his today. The DRIVE FOR 5 is coming soon. Go Jeff Gordon Go ! ! !
