I have this guy friend, and we are getting pretty close to dating. He is extremely cute and very sweet, but he always has bad breath. Its a complete turn off. How do I tell him to go and brush his teeth without being mean? We are comfortable with each other enough to just come out and say it, ya know?

So just come out and say it! If you want to have a good relationship with this person you must first be good friends if not best friends. Keep in mind their isn't much bestfriends would'nt say to each other. Especially something as silly as bad breath. Make sure you say it kinda light heartedly, and not in the midst of an argument. If he catches the hint then it's a win win!

How old is he?
He probably just needs a trip to the dentist.
What kind of bad breath? If you stay at his house, buy some mouthwash and use it all the time, maybe he will do the same. or GUM!
If not, just get comfortable enough where you can tell him.

Offer him some gum or a breath mint as you are having one to. Either that or if he is a friend than you should just politely mention it to him. He probably doesn't even realize it bothers you unless you tell him. Be honest and apologize if it offends him. You can always turn it around and tell him to tell you if you have bad breath.

Good luck

You need to send him a roll of breath mints from a "secret friend" with a note attached spelling it out for him. Be sure when you see him not to divulge that it was you, nor do you be overly noticing that his breath suddenly smells fresh. You're right, it's a sensitive subject, and one that would better come from someone anonymous rather than an embarassing face-to-face chat - regardless of how good of friends you are. Good luck.

first you could just try and suggest that you don't like bad breath and then mention that sometimes he has bad breath and maybe mints or something would help? its a difficult thing to bring up in a conversation with someone but if your comfortable around each other he'll understand and hopefully it'll work!

Chew very strong minty gum (like ice breakers) around him and offer him some. He might make a joke back like "what are you trying to tell me something?' and in a joking way say "yes, the breath is bad!! have some gum"

Just tell him. Offer him some gum. Or mention something about how bad someone else's breath is. lol if he doenst get it then, then really make it clear that you think he should brush more often. Be nice about it though, do it in a jocking manner. :)

Say, "eww your breath is kicking, here's a mint" then give him a big kiss after the mint kicks in. That way he won't feel so badly, unless of course he has halitosis. But if he does have halitosis and he knows it, then he should already understand that he has stank breath.

Well, you could have a mint or pepperminty gum in your pocket, and offer it to him, but you should put one in your mouth before you offer, so it doesn't seem like he needs it.

And, if he is sleeping-over or SOMETHING at your house, maybe you should go brush your teeth and ask him to join you. Well, hope this helped!
