Doesn't the pastor have an obligation to stop me from looking like an idiot?

Some lady did. I don't know if she was necessarily speaking in tongues, but she claimed that she was so overcome by the spirit of the Lord that she fell down and smacked her head, and now she's suing.
Personally, I find this to be extremely hilarious.

If this were a serious question, then I would point out that in most jurisdictions, it is pointless to try to sue a non-profit organization, because of the "charitable exception" that usually gives a charity immunity to any negligence claim.

Plus there is the "assumption of the risk", and "contributory negligence" doctrines that can be used as a fall back defense. In other words, you were the one stupid enough to fall down without taking adequate precautions for protecting your own head, so your injury is your own fault (To be completely honest, I have to note here that for some reason, these latter two defenses didn't work for McDonald's, however, even though any idiot should know that drinking hot coffee while driving entails some risk of being burned.).

No, and the pastor doesn't have a obligation to stop you from looking like a idiot, that's all on you.

I mean really, sueing a church to get big bucks. Take some ibuprophen and use a icepack.

First of all, if you were a real Christian you wouldn't be wanting to sue a church because you pretended to be speaking in tongues and rolled around out of the spirit. Second, if you were really speaking in tongues and fell and bumped your head it would not hurt. Because God would not hurt you if you were delivering a message from him.

WOW! 13 solutions already and not certainly one of them might place any faith in this television character. what's this international coming to whilst human beings won't place faith in faith healers? Oh, ye realists and cynics.. maybe that's the tone of the questioner that reasons doubt. they are sturdy actors and positioned on an incredibly nicely produced drama. equivalent to Queen for an afternoon, if any of you bear in mind that.

No he is not obligated to unless you request assistance, But that sounds like you had something to drink before that you should not have. I would check that sign on the door are you sure you are in church. Take the blame man up and could you do that one more time with a helmet,O_-

If you were in the spirit enough to be speaking in tongues and you bumped your head, you would never have felt it. So if you bumped your head and felt it, then good, you deserve it for mocking the Spirit of the Lord like that. Please don't talk down about something you know nothing about. The disciples of Jesus spoke in other tongues.

No, you are responsible for you if you roll around in church.

Maybe you should take a buddy with you in church.

But, you sound a bit reckless and I think you need to be careful.

Actually making people look like idiots is a pastor's entire job.
