i have dirtyblonde hair and want black highlights?

grrrr, y r ppl doing this 2 themselves. and btw hun, those would be lowlites. 4 u stereotypical ppl, it does not mean ur emo. It is really ur choice, but don't ruin your hair.

I wouldnt do that if I were you..It wont look exactly good. If you really want to try it, use the 30 day hair color, so If you dont like it, its out in a month. If you want darker highlights, go with lightish brown. That'd look the best.

If you have ash blond hair and you get blue black low lights it will look strange. When you are trying to go for that much of a contrast it is best to go to the extreme. I would do platinum blond with black low lights. If you are sticking with your natural color I would suggest a neutral dark brown as your low light.

Personally I think dirty blonde should always pair up with lghter blonde highlights! It makes your hair lookmuch more suttle (or however you spell that) Black just looks so outrageous. Try the light blonde highlights. It gives a more elegant look!

Those would be low-lights. No won't look good. But get a few platinum blonde streaks randomly like the Victoria Secret models and the bottom layer of your hair dyed black.

Naw dont get black highlights, wont look nice with dirty blond hair. You should put some bright blond streaks, would look nice.

Well I've never heard of it before, but I guess if you think it looks good :) Maybe you shouldn't go jet black, but more like a light brown. That will look better.

sometimes if you have blonde hair and you put a really dark color into it it can bleed and look bad... i would suggest getting it dont professionally and maybe a diff color...
