My son is 27 months, about 37-38" tall and 40 pounds. I am finding it more and more difficult to get him in his car seat. I am looking for hands on experience with booster seats. What model do you have, why you like it or dont like it etc. Especially since most states are requiring booster seats until age 6 I want to make sure I make the right choice when investing in one of these.
Thanks!

I would get a seat that will be a harness for now, but convert to a booster. I don't think that a 2-year-old would be very safe in just a booster.

We have the Cosco Apex Alpha Elite seat, which holds a child in a harness until they are 65 pounds, and then can become a booster for up to 100 pounds. My son is 4 and sits in it quite comfortably.

My son is 8, he 4ft 5 and he would be in a booster seat till the vehicle seat belt fits him like good. The regulation says 4 feet 7, yet while i do no longer think of the seat belt will try this's pastime while he reaches that top, then he will stay in the booster. It relies upon on the greater healthful of the belt, on the 2nd is cuts for the duration of his face and the lap section is for the duration of his abdomen so there is not any way he's driving without a booster. it would substitute with the subsequent 2 inches of strengthen, yet I doubt it!

I have 2 Cosco alpha omega elite car seat boosters...they go from 5 to 100 pounds and I absolutely love them!!! I have one skinny son and one chubbier one...they like them too, neither has ever complained...
I also purchased a Graco regular belt booster..the kind without a back..for my older son, he uses it when he goes with Grandma and he loves it and sits in it well...your son is in the height and weight range for a belt booster, but with his age I think it would do best with a regular booster with a 5 point harness

i have the graco booster seat from wal-mart. I really love it. The seat is light weight (easier for moms to install). The one I have is for toddlers from 30 to 100 lbs. The back on it can be taken off when the kids weigh 50lbs. Also the seat with the back on features a 5 point harness. I paid fifty dollars for it.
O yea I forgot to mention they come in lots of cute colors and also most of kids fav. cartoons.

We have two boys, and our 6 year old is about the same size as your son (he's small). We use a Graco belt-positioning booster. It's fantastic. Kids like it because of the cool colors and cup holders. We like it because it's lightweight and inexpensive.

When he gets taller, we can take the back off and use it as just a booster seat.

I think your child should be 3 in order to use, but because of his size, it might work.

The Britax Star Riser is a wonderful booster seat! It's comfortable and easy to buckle. My daughter is five and a half (weighs less than your son, though), and she fits in it very nicely, and never complains about it. It was pretty expensive, but you get what you pay for.
