How much would a seamstress charge to remove layers of fabric from a wedding dress?
I am having a destination wedding on a beach in just about a year. I found a dress that I absolutely love. However, it would be too hot to wear on a beach with all the layers of fabric that are in it. I want to know how much a seamstress would charge to remove a few of them?

If you are referring to the crinoline underneath--it is very very easy to remove and not expensive at all. That is added after the fact and therefore the fabric is not connected to the actual fabric on the dress.

But if you are talking about a lace overlay on a dress and you want to take off a layer that is visible to the naked eye, it requires more skill and therefore charges more.

But the under layers that add to the "poof" of the dress are really easy. If you have any skill, you could probably do it yourself with a seamripper. My cousin took the crinoline out of her dress for about $20.

That depends on a lot of different factors: how much fabric is being removed, how the gown is constructed, what fabrics/fibers are involved, whether there are any other alterations necessary...and the list goes on.

You'll probably save yourself a great deal of both time and money if you keep looking for your perfect dress.

Depends on where you live, sweetheart. I live in Iowa and just paid $10 to have straps sewn on instead of snapping them on (they always popped off). It will probably cost a pretty penny.

probably a lot. they charge a lot for everything. do you know someone who sews? Try asking around to find someone reasonable...find someone who may have been married in the last few years or who may know someone who would do it for a lesser price (but don't take a chance on someone you dont feel comfortable with, meet them first!)
