I heard about an idea where each couple gets x amount of dollars and goes to the grocery store to pick up ingredients for dinner. Then they make dinner together. Has anyone every done this or something similar? Any ideas or advice?

I've never heard that, but I think that has got to be the most adorable thing ever, single or double date wise.

I know it's not helpful, but I would so do it. It sounds like it should be a blast.

Cooking/baking together is romantic. I don't know if it would work better or worse in a double-date setting, but it should be fun. Just make sure to get into lots of food fights, and you can all clean up together, too.

Also, painting. I wouldn't exactly do it as a set date idea, but if you ever have to paint your house or something of the sort, try doing it with your significant other. There's something about working together that makes it really fun.

I have done something similar to this. Me and my boyfriend bought stuff to make dinner with 25 dollars, the other couple could buy or make a dessert and bring a board game or rent a movie with 25 dollars. It was really fun for all of us. We take turns doing this a couple times a month and we always have lots to eat and lots to do (sometimes we go out and watch a movie instead of staying in and playing games or renting a movie). Have fun with it too... last week we rented a movie and bought stuff so that everyone could make their own sunday the way they like (we asked the other couple what they like on their ice cream first).
