Pitbulls are naturally hyper. I have one and he's usually pretty calm but when people come in the door he's so spastic. Especially when I come home from work. You can try to teach him not to jump on people by harshly saying no when he does, or squirting him with water from a squirt bottle. That's what I do and he learns quick.

Teach him that its not okay to jump. My husband and I own two American Pit Bull Terriers and they get sooo excited when we come home and when people come over, but they know its not okay to jump. I would suggest mabey taking your dog to some obedience classes. Also, "pit bulls" need ALOT of exercise!! We walk ours 3 times a day (sometimes 4 or 5, if I am bored I take them on extra walks lol!), we take them to the beach once or twice a week, we try to take them to the park as much as possible and we play with them at home ALOT! They LOVE to play tug-o-war and they love to play with their spring pole! Good luck with your bully! : )

If you don't want your dog to jump up on you, knee him in the gut when he jumps on you. I know it sounds a little cruel, but it doesn't take long for them to get the idea. I didn't have to do this to my dog, cause she wasn't like that, but heard it is a good technique!!

Obedience training. I recommend it for all breeds. It will calm him right down and teach him other necessary skills that will make your lives easier as well. Good luck
