Better ask your doctor for the definitive answer. You might get who knows what in a generic OTC supplement.

I don't see why iron pills would ever be that expensive. Talk to him about taking over the counter ones. There's no reason to shell out $100 on iron pills. Also, check the ingredients for the prescription to see if they're the same to over the counter ones.

Yeah it's OK, check the grams of iron in the prescription, the OTC ones I have were 1/2 the strength of the prescription ones. So I staretd taking 2 a day instead of paying ten times as much.

Take iron with vitamin C, it absorbs better, you should feel better in less than a week.

the best thing I can advise, is ask your Dr. if he says you have to take the ones he prescribed, then ask him for samples, because you don't have that kind of money. you can also ask your pharmacist. he will be able to tell you if there is an over-the-counter iron pill that's just about the same.

ask the Dr. first

aren't these pill manufacturers a BIG rip off ??

yes but i would consult doc 1st....adv that the Rx is too expensive and you prefer the same dosage in an OTC pill...thats what i did and he let me do it
