if you are talking about the tv show, i think it's a lot of drama

if you are talking about real life, i think people need to be slightly older before they make decisions that could affect them the rest of their lives

I was 17 when I got engaged and am getting married this summer. There are no kids on the way and wont be for a couple years. We are both finishing college, and we both have really good jobs. so if you are under age as long as you are doing it for the right reasons and understand the type of commitment it is and the work to make it work, I say go for it

I think it is a stupid show. I am 21 and recently married. I support my wife by working my butt off. I have a great job and will be graduating from college with a double major in accounting and finance in December. My wife is 21 and will be graduating in December with a degree in elementary education. The is no problem getting married young if you are mature enough to handle it. The people MTV puts on that show are idiots.

Well if you are talking about the show...i have never seen it.

If you're talking about underage and engaged in general...I don't see a problem with it if they are mature enough for it.

I just turned 18 about 2 weeks ago, and i have been engaged since December. So I was underage and engaged. But I feel like I am mature enough to be engaged.

The show? I think that they show way too much of the "fun planning" leading up to the wedding and not nearly enough of the actual marriage which is much harder than they like to make it seem. I also think they only choose people who are having big weddings because someone is paying for it and don't show the couples who have to do a JP ceremony with a BurgerKing reception like most couples that age do.

Like the MTV show? Or someone being underaged and engaged?

If your talking about the tv i think its funny in one of those "glad its not me" sort of ways.

About girls who are engaged and underage, I think its a wee bit immature in most cases. When your that young your still growing up so much and dont really know each other yet, besides in most cases still being 100% dependent on your parents.

That would depend on the age. Anything under 17 should just have a "promise/friendship" ring.

I think they should wait until they are over 18 to get married.

i.e. have a long engagement.

i think it's funny to watch people screw up there lives and rush to get married! I have seen several espiodes and i cant recall anyone having a degree or able to provide for each other! Everyone is poor, and in love! I think if there love is that strong why not wait and get on track financally, and grow up mentallly! That way the love will grow even more!!!

I think more than a few people need their heads examined to allow this. The children don't know any better and the adults that raised them didn't teach them anything but it's your job to get married and make lots of babies.

Shame on the parents.

Why do you all think it is such a bad idea to get married at a young age?? think about how old our grandparents were when they 1st got married and alot of them lasted....
