depends on size of cap and size of your dog.... if you have a large 60+ pound dog it should pass... but if its a small dog then I would get it to a vet as it might cause an obstruction....give us more details...smile

how long ago??if it just happened you could give him a couple Tablespoons of Hydrogen Peroxide.. but Labs are notorious for eating everything but the kitchen sink...lol... I think in my personal opinion that he will be OK ... watch for signs of obstruction:
lethargy
not eating/drinking
vomiting
not passing any stool
diarrhea
tense abdomen

then get him to the vet immediately..but otherwise I think you should be fine....watch his stool closely in the next day or 2 to make sure it passes also....smile good luck!!

Edit: no peroxide will induce vomiting but its been to long really... if he is a lab, I would keep a bottle ready for any other incidences like chocolate etc.. give him 2-3 tablespoons every 5-10 minutes until he starts to vomit... IT WONT HURT HIM.....SMILE
just keep an eye out for the symptoms I put up above and you should be fine... He is a lab and this won't be your first time with eating something weird or something he shouldn't...lol...Good luck!!! smile

well if he is a bigger dog than that is completely common. my dog has eaten a whole plastic coke bottle before and he was just fine. as long as he is acting fine and not choking or anything than it should pass through him normally. my boston terrier is always pooping out plastic zip ties and trash bags and stuff i don't know where he gets this stuff or why but they are always just fine.

I say get him to a vet. A bottle cap is just the right size to cause a blockage.

Ah..he'll be fine..He should just pass it through his system. Try giving some vegatable oil with his dinner. If his behaviour changes..take 'em to a vet

I would say call your vet. It can definently block him up and or hurt him.

ooh ooh. Heard this one before.
I would ring your vet and ask them. That's what I would do if it was my dog.
