I recently had my credit card taken out of my purse and someone tried to use it but after being denied they put it back into my purse. Should I report this to the police? My credit card company was the ones to notify me of this incident. They are cancelling the transactions and my card. I also had a camera that was stolen from my house by the same person.

Someone took it, then put it back.
Handle accordingly.

If you report this as unauthorized then they will investigate the charge. BOA will probably not look at the video surveillance, but they will probably ask for a police report. Since this was a couple days ago, it seems very risky to try this method. There has actually been a lot of bad press about the outrageous overdraft charges. I would suggest that you call them and ask them to forgive the charges. They may very well reduce them to one charge of say $35. If they refuse, write them a certified letter protesting the high penalties and complain to the FDIC and the OCC. You will have to stick it out but they will compromise. If you have already done this, well good luck. They might believe that you forgot the last charge.

Absolutely!
If you don't, you are one hundred per cent responsible for all charges.
Last year I got my husband a subscription to a, well, let's call it an adult magazine. They charged my credit card for the renewal, without my authorization, and my bank told me that if I didn't close the card (and get a new one) I was basically, allowing the charge and I would have to pay for it.
And, the person in question:
If he/she did it once, and you don't say anything, that person is likely to do it again!

If they were unable to use it. It seems like it is going to be very hard to prove they ever had possession of it. I wouldn't waste yours or the police time. Chalk it up as a lesson learned and be more aware in the future.

If you don't know who took it,it would be of no use to do so. You may want to get a new card.

it sounds like you know who it is. if they didnt charge anything, just confront them. depending on your relationship, you may want to call police. its up to you. if you lose money, i'd call the credit card company and get my money back.

call your card company and speak with them on what they think you should do about this. Did you have the person arrested? if not why?
