what do you say before a jamaat ?

when you stand behind the imam and you say something for it to be a jamaat

i think its called the kiama

What are you talking about? I think you mean salate al jama'a
which is meaning the group who is praying together behind the Imam.

There is two things here Adhan and Iqama.

Athan is the call to prayer, this is performed aloud in a congregation prayer about 10-15 before the congregation prayer.

The Iqama is the call to commence, it said just before the prayer, quickly and then the prayer begins.

I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah

ok, if its Jamaah and Qiyam..... What I said before Jamaah when I stand behind the Imam (to follow the Sholat) and I say (also in my heart) the "NIYYAH" (http://www.islam101.com/selections/glossaryNPQ.html) to join the pray group.
