Ok, I know many of us do not believe the same way. But, there are some of you who are the on the complete opposite scale of beliefs that I respect so much. A dear friend just passed away and as I type this I am overwhelmed with saddness. I would really appreciate prayers from those who do believe and some good mojo from those who don't. . .please think of his dear family. . .thanks in advance.

Starwhitedwarf, he was a believer.

Thoughts, mojo, prayers, good thoughts for his family and friends is all I want.

No matter what our beliefs are we have all expereinced the pain of loss. . .and to reach out in any way to others who are hurting whether it effects each of us individually or not. . .I believe is a powerful and simply human thing to do. I think we are all more than what we allow ourselves to be. . . . .

This poem brought a measure of peace and comfort to our family following a recent loss:

God looked around His garden and He found an empty place,
He then looked down upon this earth, and saw your tired face.

He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest.
Gods garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering, He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you wiold never get well on earth again.

He saw that the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered "Peace be thine."

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone.
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.

My prayers are with you and your friends family that Gods peace may be within you as you go through this time of loss. God bless you and all who loved and knew your friend.

My condolences for your friend and the family.
I know this is not something you will like to hear, but muslims do not believe that they can do anything for a non believer or a polyethiest/pagans after they die, if the truth was presented to them and they turned their backs away.
We can pray for mercy but not forgiveness because forgiveness will not be granted. and god knows best.
EDIT: He will be in my prayers, but his status is with god and god alone.
I do not mean to be offensive to others, I am merely presenting the truth. I am from a christian family and a convert and I cannot pray for forgiveness for my own famly as much as it hurts me. I can only advise them in this lifetime.
Even the prophets' pbut
parents will not be forgiven. Note: the father of prophet abraham pbuh was a non believer.
One of the sons of Noah was a non-believer etc. Those people do not have special status because they were the family of prophets.
I do find it really reallly nice of you to come here and ask people to pray. I wish that someone will do that for me. Nothing nicer than getting everyone to pray. :)

Dear Sister-in-Christ, "Sparkles9",

Yes, I am lifting you and his family up in prayer, even as I type! May the Peace of God, which passes all understanding, comfort you now and continue to do so in future!

For "I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I entrusted to him for that day." 2 Timothy 12(NIV)

These are the scriptures which came to mind while I was praying for you all.

May God bless you and your family and your friend's family!

OF COURSE you have our prayers and thoughts!!

Also.. I wanted to pass this information on to you! I recently went through a HORRIBLE loss myself and my therapist (b/c I NEEDED to talk to someone about the loss) suggested this book and it helped SOOOO much!

Its called "The Healing Journey Through Grief" by Phil Rich

Its not only a book, but a journal that helps you sort out your feelings and thoughts and just helps you "work through" the grief! I just thought you might be interested!

Take care, God Bless and again... my prayers are with you!
