Like MS Word mail merge, is there any way I can do mail merge using Mozilla Thunderbird? I have both word processors - MS Word and Open Office Writer but I don't use MS Outlook at all.

I'm sorry, let me clarify further. The objective is not to use TB address book. The idea is to send out personalized emails (not printed letters & envelopes) to a list of recipients using Open Office and Thunderbird. I do not intend to use MS Outlook & MS Word but I know it can be very easily done using MS technologies.

Yahoo! Answers and my long-windedness don't allow time for me to write the entire step-by-step, but the answer involves exporting the Mozilla Thunderbird address book to a comma-delimited file (csv) and then connecting to that file as a database in OOo and then using it as input to a labels template. (You might be able to do similar, with Word, but I haven't tried...)

BUT WAIT!!! Before you get all excited and go for it, make sure you go to www.avery.com and fetch yourself any templates you might need, if you do. I had to fetch templates for my mailing labels, as OOo is not very strong on them!
