He preaches about global warming but just look at him. His electric bill aside, one of the biggest polluters is factory farming and Gore looks like he enjoys his McDonald's. How can he say he cares about the environment and overconsume like that?

Why can't people see that they're just being used as political pawns with this global warming issue? Gore has incited a panic over this issue in the same way the Bush and the right wing republicans incited a moral panic over the gay marriage issue in 2000.

Why does it matter? Whether or not Al Gore's actions are hypocritical has nothing to do with whether what he's saying is right or not. Gore is simply repeating exactly what climate scientists are saying in a way that's easily understood by lay-people like you and me. So the theory is still sound regardless of how many burgers he eats or jets he flies in.

And no one is being used as a political pawn here. Whether or not human caused global warming is happening is a scientific issue and has absolutely nothing to do with politics. How we're to go about fixing might be a political issue, but scientists are the only people qualified to say whether it's real or not.

Take a look at the facts. Al Gore is right. Even though he does have to travel often, it's because he is informing the world on global warming. Think of all the people who would still be in the dark if he had never made Incovinient Truth. Sorry to the close minded republicans who turn a blind eye on the issue, but with the churches claiming there is no worry on global warming, don't you think Jesus would want you to take care of the Earth for our children? Al Gore makes up for his electricity with truth and compat flourescents.

that is humorous how the dumbest republican president that ever lived replaced into clever adequate to conquer the two smartest democrats (aside from Hillary of direction) to stroll the planet. 1) The reports about Al Gore's supposed energy waste were false--the right-wing organization that published those figure s admitted they lied after the power company published the real figures.
2) Gor has converted his home to solar enrgy.

As to his weight--what in hell has that got to do with it?

Global warming--and climate are real--and a serious threat. Get used to it.

Or do you enjoy paying out the ying-yang for enrgy produced by oil and coal when the clean alternatives are cheaper. The technology for cost-effective alternatives is there--NOW. Which is why Exxon/Mobil, etc. are spending tens of millions annually trying to fool people--they are running scared. And the neo-con lemmings trot along right behind them--right off the cliff.

In the media circus that is global warming, Al Gore is the ringmaster.

Nonetheless, it's humorous how quickly environmental alarmists distance from this clown, and cling to the "science".

Judging from what passes for science in the GW forum, it's hard to figure out whether those folks are incredibly dishonest, incredibly ignorant, or both.

the real question shouldn't be why al gore is a hypocrite, but why people still don't believe in global warming. regardless of who the messenger is, we should focus on what the message is... so al gore is a hypocrite, but what he's saying about global warming is true...
every year the polar ice caps melt at higher speeds. that means the water levels are rising like never before (meaning bye-bye florida and london). yes, it's true that we are at a warmer climate trend now, but never has the earth been this warm. is it just a coincidence that humans are producing more pollutants than ever before?
i, like everyone else, am tired of the constant "scare tactics" going around. but global warming is a real issue... and even if you don't believe in global warming, what's the harm in saving money on gas and electric bills? what's the harm in making the air breathable for everyone?
think about it... don't hate the messenger, listen to the message

It is hard not to respond to some of the idiotic answers supporting Gore because his hypocrisy is pretty obvious. I think the answer is as simple as "Gore is a politician and he is playing politics." He found an issue that makes him feel like he is doing something. I don't think it matters much that his knowledge on the subject is lacking and his conclusions are flawed, there are a large number of people that will follow him like Al Gore is the Pied Piper, so that like little lemmings, they can feel good too.

Well, see, from your point of view, he really is. It's for a reason. He wants us to feel sorry for the environment, so we'll make up for his environment troubles.
Still, the environment stuff is real.
Still yet, politics is messing up the facts of science.

Al Gore:
"Stop wasting the few gallons per month that you could be saving by driving a more economical car:

OK give me my $175,000 for the 30 sec speech... I'm getting on my plane to fly 3000 miles to give another speech tonight. Bye SUCKERS"
