Light summons the dark.

This universe ever summons opposites; such is its very construction, which is of itself neither good or bad but ever in seething motion while moving from one pole to the other.

That is balance -- nothing fixed but ever in motion...a rhythmical balanced interchange between all poles of opposite expression.

Every person will be one or the other at varying times and this for varying lengths of time... No one will find absolute light or absolute dark, even if the core or heart of a thing or person is predominately one or the other. For this does not carry in the nature of this universe.

And none or no thing is excepted from this great law.

God has nothing to do with your grandpa getting cancer. All the evils of this world come to us because the world fell and is riddled with sin and under the control of satan. God is not the cause of bad things happening to anyone.

Good and bad, even a believer can have these things happen. Circumstances should never determine whether we love God or not. There will come a day when Jesus Christ will redeem the earth, the crooked will be made straight, and all things will be set right. If your grandpa loves Jesus Christ, he will be rewarded in God's kingdom. What we go through in this life should remind us that this world, and these bodies, are not our "real" homes.

Dear Shortybaby,
To have love for ones family is the second greatest love we can have. God see's and knows all things, and he is not to blame for these troubled times and the sicknesses we get at this time. What he promisses is this: Revelation 21:3,4.
He has also promissed a time when all of us will get a better.
WHY DO WE STILL SUFFER FROM DISEASE, SINCE JESUS DIED FOR US NEARLY 2,000 YEARS AGO?

The answer is that the removal of sickness is tied in with God’s other purposes—such as the settling of the issue of sovereignty, the removal of Satan the Devil, the judging of mankind, the salvation of those found faithful and the providing of a satisfactory government for this world. These purposes will all be accomplished by means of God’s kingdom through Christ. (Matt. 6:10) Such grand purposes need time to be worked out.—2 Pet. 3:5-13.
WHEN WILL SICKNESS FINALLY BE DONE AWAY WITH?

We know it will not be long! Jesus gave his followers a highly detailed “sign” so that they could recognize the time when he had started to rule as king in the heavens—the event that leads to the fulfillment of other purposes of God. That “sign” included world wars, intense fear of the future, widespread famine, pestilences and similar events that we see occurring today. Why not read Jesus’ words, and the further information added by the apostle Paul? See if you do not agree that we are living in the time to which Jesus referred.—See Matthew, chapter 24, Mark, chapter 13, Luke, chapter 21, and 2 Timothy 3:1-5.
If your grandpa should fall asleep in death, God promisses that you will see him soon in the resurrection, (Acts 24:15) . . .and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.. . .

What you need to do is make sure you are there? By study of God's word, See 2 ||Tim 3:16, John 17:3

God does not allow it to happen to your grandfather. God didn't make this world the way it is, Satan did. He started with Adam and Eve.

In Ecclesiastes 9:11 is reads, "I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battles, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor, because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all.

This shows that we all have our lot in life, our burden to carry. We all have something in our lives that we have to work through, get over, or causes us pain or even our deaths. The Bible never says life is easy. Your grandfather sounds like a nice person and does for his fellow man, good for him. He's to be commended for it. God does see what he does and you grandfather will be blessed for his work. Look what Job went through in his test, no one went through what the Christ went through for us.

Please notice the scripture and verse I quoted. I know a man that was at the Twin Towers on that day and he hated God for not taking him instead of a friend. That scripture is what I told him to read and he has been a different man since.

Your grandfather will be in my prayers.

Nobody in Yahoo can answer this question better than one person:

Your Grandfather. He's the one suffering so nobody can answer more truthfully than him. Ask him why he thinks God is allowing this to happen to him.

You'll get a truthful answer from the person involved, devoid of any random opinion and perhaps your Grandfather's faith will then help you accept the situation and why he is accepting the situation with such apparent grace.

That advice, I'm sure will be the advice you might perhaps be giving your own grandchildren, a precious heirloom of faith to be passed on through the generations.

I hope your grandfather benefits from the opportunity to share his wisdom with you. It might be something to give him a little joy while he is suffering.

The reason why we all get sick, grow old, and die is because of Adam's sin in the garden of Eden( you can read Romans 5:12) also if you read Job 34:10 , you can see that God never causes what is bad. One important point to consider is this: Satan the Devil is the ruler of this world and the reason why we suffer(1John 5:19) God is not helping Satan rule this wicked world, if he was and to help him by preventing bad things from happening to us then he would be supporting Satan and thus becoming a party to a lie and at Hebrews 6:18 it tells us it is "impossible for God to lie" However, by means of the ransom sacrifice, God will soon end all human suffering and will undo its effects.(1 John 3:8) You can find more Bible based answers, by speaking with Jehovah's witnesses, why not contact the kingdom hall in your area and see what they have to say and also check out the book "What does the Bible really teach?" which you can obtain from them, at no cost. I hope things work out for your family member.

As an atheist I am not a god defender but as a person who have known many wonderfull people in my life some who have passed and some that are living. I have to ask you why are you weeping? You're grandpa sounds like a wonderfull person who is full of life, love and understanding and the best part is he is still here for you to tell him and share with him how you feel. I know coming from an atheist that this sounds rude why are you fighting to change something that is just going to happen and not celebrating the days that you have with him and the legacy of what a truly rich and kind human being he is that you can point out to your children and theirs and share him and what he is about now.

I'm not trying to make light of your grandfather's cancer, but often I think we as humans have such a shallow definition of "good" and "bad". For instance, I went through a horrible divorce. At the time I classified it definitely as BAD, but the end result of my divorce is that now I have a better life--I'm happy--I'm stronger as a person--my faith deepened. Hence, today I consider the divorce more GOOD than bad.

Cancer always seems BAD. What about the chance the illness gives family members to bond together? Who will be forever influenced by watching your Godly grandfather endure cancer with peace? Who is praying more now that he is going through this hard time? If God heals him wouldn't it be awesome? If God doesn't heal Him, horrible as it seems to us, He will be in Heaven with God. Bad things are usually based on human perception, which God is not limited by.

I will pray for you and for your grandfather. If you are ticked off at God...tell Him so. (He already knows it anyway and He still loves you just as much.)

You probably don't need some boring scriptures at this point. So look at your grandpa's ailment this way: he needs to undergo some experiences in this life, such experiences that he absolutely must have, in order to proceed to the next stage of his spiritual education. I can assure you that this next stage is a very happy and exciting one, much more than what he had on earth. Indeed, if you knew what awaits him, you would be happy that he is starting it soon. And it is all because of God's love for him. Please cheer up.

sorry, i cant say about another person's faith but i will try to answer what i know.

This cancer is not from God but in a situation like this, it is hard not to murmur against Him...becoz it is someone we love.
But i always believe we should raise up in our spirits as God said in His word that all things will work together for our good for those who love Him.

In my church, the dead was raised when the family partook of the lord's supper believing & trusting in the hopsital bed itself!

Do email me if u are interested to know more abt this.
