Being stationed in Iraq, Medics are being tasked out to various details and missions. One such mission is to stand guard at a gate. Does that not completely void what a medic is for? Is that not an offensive posture? As far as I was aware, Medics are not to be placed in situations where they are the aggressors as they are not specifically trained for that. Any help with this dilemma would be greatly appreciated and if you could give me some references, I would love to read them. Thank you

Bottom line: medics can guard medical facilities and patient only with small arms! They cannot guard any facility that includes any non-medical units. Period.

Been an issue since Korea and WWII was sometimes really out-of-hand in Vietnam. However, in modern warfare medics if unarmed would be just foder for the enemy. But the principle should be maintained as in hospitals and medical facilities. The Islamic terror types do not care and thus we should not?

I oppose any such utilization of medics.

When they are on guard, they probably shouldn't be wearing their medics bands (red cross/crescent). Being on guard, is not being an aggressor. Medics are issued weapons and have a right to protect themselves and their patients. I do not see anything wrong with it.

Where you would get into a problem would be if someone were to wear the red cross to decieve the enemy and go on the offensive with an M-60. Not like that makes much of a difference in Iraq anyway. Insurgents don't care who they kill.

They are not agressors as gate guards. They are guards. If someone tries to get through they are the aggressor. At that point the medic should assume a defensive position...

No a guard at a gate is a DEFENSIVE measure

Stoping an attack or giving warning of impending trouble is DEFENSIVE.

A real soldier would not be whining about pulling stag to allow some of his comrades who go out a fight some kip time.

Hell is maintained by technique of the self-reproach of its inhabitants. They locate Heaven itself to be Hell so they flee. ;—that's nervous, although that's suited to declare it;—that if we wanted to think of a punishment for an unholy, reprobate soul, we perhaps ought to no longer fancy a much better than to summon it to heaven. Heaven could be hell to an irreligious guy. all of us understand how unhappy we are apt to experience at contemporary, while by myself interior the middle of strangers, or of guys of distinctive tastes and behavior from ourselves. How depressing, case in point, could or no longer that's to ought to stay in a remote places land, between a human beings whose faces we on no account observed till now, and whose language we could no longer learn. And it truly is yet a faint representation of the loneliness of a guy of earthly tendencies and tastes, thrust into the society of saints and angels. How forlorn could he wander in the time of the courts of heaven! He could locate no one like himself; he could see in each and every course the marks {8} of God's holiness, and those could make him shudder. He could experience himself consistently in His presence. He ought to now no longer turn his concepts yet differently, as he does now, while judgment of right and incorrect reproaches him. He could understand that the eternal Eye replaced into ever upon him; and that Eye of holiness, this is exhilaration and existence to holy creatures, could look to him an eye fixed of wrath and punishment. God can't replace His nature. Holy He ought to ever be. yet whilst he's holy, no unholy soul could nicely be happy in heaven.
