I agree, at my dear Aunties funeral my job was to hand round the order of service, I had just been to the loo and my skirt was tucked into my knickers,I went round for ages giving them out until someone told me! My Auntie would have loved that!!!

Mike, lol, I think that at funerals people are either crying or laughing (because of nervousness or the situation in general) Maybe something about the somberness of the funeral, and the way your father was singing made you laugh? Indeed, it's a funny old world. Too funny, sometimes.

I know where you're coming from. I DID burst out laughing at a funeral once, and was mortified but the more I tried to stop the more it made me laugh - it happened when the priest sprinkled the holy water on the coffin and the bottle or whatever he was using made a farting sound whenever he shook the bottle. I still cringe whenever I think of that but I can't help myself I always laugh when I know I shouldn't.

My mum laughed at a friends funeral because one of the girls sitting next to her was singing from an upside down hymn book LOL.

I know what you mean,I went to a funeral years back, the organist was playing 'Strangers in the night'.....badly !!!
I was desperately trying not to giggle, and because you know you are meant to keep your decorum ,it makes it worse.
But I know the dear lady whose funeral it was, would of understood and most likely of laughed herself at that dreadful retention of one her favourite songs....

It certainly is better to laugh than cry, although sometimes you cant help laughing when you shouldn't, but never mind I am sure you were not the only one.

There used to be this old guy in our church when we were kids who sang in a very deep loud voice, all on the same note. We went just to listen to him.
