How to copy all my files and restart windows so my computer can run faster.

write everything to CDs and DVDs, then format it by reinstalling windows. Or do a system restore which keeps most of your stuff and you can return to a previous date liek the day you got the machiene

You do not need to copy any files to restart Windows. Your data will not be deleted. Just click Start and then Shut Down. Once there, select Restart to restart your computer.

If you're running slow, it's probably either your IE cache or a virus/spyware. Open IE and clear your cache, then download adaware from download.com to scan for spyware. You can scan for viruses at trendmicro.com. The online scan is free and it works well.

start up options


start up options - hibernate - shut down -screen saver password
go to start at bottom of screen in blue bar (task bar)
go to control panel
choose power options
choose never to all listed there or the settings you want
choose apply then choose ok
if you want to hibernate
then choose hibernate
click advanced choose hibernate
then click hibernate
click enable hibernate
make sure you click apply and ok to everything
also click advanced tab choose show icon on desk top
then you can push power button
windows will close
push button again and you are where you was again
computer does not have to do all that work again
password protected screen saver is good
i use it my self
do this by
close all windows
right click on open area of desk top
choose properties
choose screen saver
choose password protect on resume
this will be your password as you are the administrator
be sure to set the time for screen saver to come on
or and
press the windows key logo + L at the same time located on the key bord
(hear is what logo picture on keyboard looks like)

this will lock it. when you unlock it will ask for password
this will be your password as you are the administrator

In Internet explorer at top of window select tools - then delete browser history
- then another box will open - select delete all- this will not remove your book marks
-Then close explorer then open again .At first pages will be slow once
and then will load fast after it loads 1 time.Also email etc you will have to sign in 1 time with pass word etc.
This will create new cookies.

Also go to start at bottom of on task bar.
click start 1 time then select find or search depending on your operating system.
Select all files and folders - then type in defrag and click search.When icons come up double click
and new box will come up - select analyze then you will see how fragmented you are -
then choose defrag.You can put this program on your desk top by right clicking on the icon you found in search for defrag.
Right click choose create short cut.This will put a short cut on your desk top.Then you can use as needed in future.

if you want book marks removed click on star at top of screen
right click the ones you don"t want choose delete
