With this, you are able to upload your MS Word file and edit it online for free. It saves automatically on Google servers so you can access the file anywhere. You can save it as whatever file format you want. Try it, you have nothing to lose.

http://openoffice.org has a program that can use word, excel and powerpoint files.
You can also go to microsoft.com and download a Word viewer. It lets you open, read and print Word files, but not edit or create.
