Nauseated, frantic, angry, worried, etc. etc. I think I would run the gambit of anxiety. I would be hysterical.

All depends on the age of the daughter (or any child) if she or he is between the ages of 1 mo. to 8 years I would be at the authorities, the media, friends, neighbors and strangers with photos asking "Have you seen this child" Will you help me find them"
8 years to 12 years pretty much the same only not as frantic. I would first do a search myself; thinking "now where could they be" what are their interest, who are their friends, they know enough not to get involved with a stranger. If I could not find them within a few hours then above would apply.
13 years to 17 years "Wait till I get my hands on that kid"
18 to 45 stay away, leave me alone. no I don't have $20.00, get a job, join the Army.

well i haven't lost my daughter for more then 1 or 2 hours but she was lost in a store for about 20 minutes and i was going crazy asking everyone if they saw a little girl and what she was wearing and i just went crazy i told the store manger and everyone just started looking. my first thought was someone took her and it killed me inside cause i knew i didn't want that to be true. i started to cry and i was really panicky but after 20 min. they found her hiding behind some counter or something i was sooooo happy to have her back in my arms again. but that was the most scariest thing that can happen to a mother.

I would be losing my mind. As a parent you think of the worse as their is so much evil on this earth. I would also be thinking how is the child reacting to all this. I hope this is a true essay your writing and not something your considering of contemplating. The worse nightmare a parent will ever have is losing a child. Losing a child is worst then death. That is something a parent should never go thru.

Well, my son got up early one day and unlocked the door. He was four years old. When we woke up, I realised he had gone. And I was absolutely terrified. This is in South Africa, where they have muti murders and there were some road workers who had been working nearby.
I didn't panic, but started to look for him. After a couple of hours, I did find him. Because I'd had to go down to the beach, which took some while, then up and around the streets, I was too busy to panic. He was waiting for me, when I returned home.
I didn't scream or shout, just hugged him and told him never ever to do it again.
But I've never felt such terror in my life.

Worried wouldn't be the half of it-I would be in a state of panic. My daughter is 11 and we live on a farm - our nearest neighbor is 1 mi. away. Since we live on a highway, I would be afraid someone stopped and took her from our yard. After quickly checking with people we know in the area, if she is still not found, I would call the police. (I would do the same for my son)

It all depends on the age of the daughter. If it was my 16 year old, I would be upset and worried, but I do know she has taken self defense for 5 years now and would be able to fight her way off of most attackers.
If it was my little 7 year old I would beyond freak just because of her age.

I would be thinking of all the horrible things that could be happening to her. but more than that, i would be thinking, "how could I let this happen?". i think i would put a lot of blame on myself because God gave me this child to protect and i would feel as though i were not doing that if she were lost or any amount of time. im extremely protective of my children because there are too many awful things happening in the world. if i were to let something happen to my child, i wouldnt be able to bare it. even if she were found safe and sound a couple hrs later, i would be beating myself up for letting her out of my sight that long. she would think i was nuts because i would be so relieved when she was found that i wouldnt want to let her go ever again.

I would need to be medicated! I am a very over protective parent and I would not be able to function at all if my child was missing. I literally would be a nutcase.
I would think the worst possible things that could have gone wrong, with the news headlines today it doesn't take much to think the worst.

I would totally be worried and concerned about kidnapping. Mostly maybe that the kid got lost somewhere or was outside and got kidnapped. And you know that if a kid gets kidnapped that it can go a looooooooong way. Sometimes the kid never gets found.
