Put on zinc oxide, the baby rash lotion that's white if you're home until it heals. I'm a woman and I shave my upper lip everyday, people have never asked me if I shave, it's my little secret. I suppose waxing is the next best thing, but the thought of letting my mustache grow to that extent scares me. Waxing will also leave a mark, your upper lip will be red and swollen for about an hour. If you have sensitive skin, it can even burn too. If you can't stay home and put on the diaper rash ointment then try using some self-tanning lotion to cover up any flaws in your face. Please put it on right and wash your hands thoroughly when done or go get a spray on tan. I hope it heals quickly, good luck.
I was reading about laser hair removal just now:
Trying to get rid of unwanted hair on the face or body is a common problem for both men and women. Laser hair reduction offers results that cannot be achieved with conventional shaving, waxing, plucking, electrolysis, or lower frequency laser and light systems. The laser works by targeting the hair in the follicle, below the skin's surface. We recommend a minimum of four treatments, and then a maintenance schedule according to each individual. Prices are per treatment, according to the area of the body.
This laser is safe and effective for all areas of the body and for men and women of all ages and skin types. The laser energy is transformed into heat, which destroys the hair follicle leaving the surrounding skin unaffected. Facial areas such as the upper lip and sideburns, bikini area, upper and lower legs, arms, chest, and back may be treated leaving skin smooth, stubble free and without the irritation of ingrown hairs.
Hair grows in cycles. A minimum of four treatments will be necessary, as the process is most effective on hair during the early growth cycle. After each session, you will see substantial visible hair reduction. The number of treatments required depends upon your skin color and coarseness of the hair. Repeat sessions will be necessary to treat the follicles when they re-enter the early growth phase. Re-growth in between treatments will also come in thinner and finer.

First, get yourself some 1% hydrocortisone cream with Aloe (sold in all the drug stores) and use it. It’s an anti inflammatory product and will help heal you.
The irritation was most likely caused by the pH of the hair removal product and your skin. Hair removers are high pH products (alkaline) where our skin tends to be somewhat acidic. After you remover the hair remover cream, you must rinse with lots of water. Don't use any regular soap (also a high alkaline product) as you will create an environment that continues to irritate your skin.
You have to really careful to get all the hair remover creme off your skin - its possible that some was still in the pores of your skin where it continued to work and ended up irritating your skin. Next time consider using the new Epil Stop Perfect Finish Neutralizing AfterWash after you take off the hair remover cream - It neutralizes any hair remover cream left on your skin so you won't burn yourself accidentally or get any red bumps. It also brings your skin’s pH back to normal, which is a very good thing.
Their website has a demo showing how it works.

Was the nair that you used for face and how long did you leave it on? Most creams like that shouldn't be left on longer than 8minutes. I really don't like nair because of the smell. I like the Sally Hansen line of facial hair removers. There are so many types, like the cream, the roll-on, etc. I have never been burned by it, and it comes with another cream that you apply to the area afterwards that soothes the skin.

Hold ice on your lip for 2 or 3 seconds then pull your top lip slightly down so its flatter i guess then before, then get tweezers and tweeze all the hairs you don't want there and imediatly after put the ice back on for another 2-3 seconds. Then when you take the ice off press your fingers kind of hard on your lip for 4-5 seconds then put the ice back on for a couple more seconds, this will make the pain less! Good luck! <3

Don't use Nair there! There are special creams for the upper lip area. Too sensitive.
Try using cool water to relive the pain or Aloe.

Ouch!
If I were you, I'd take a look into creams that are meant specifically for the upper lip. Just go to any store that sells cosmetics and ask the clerk.

i know most people are afraid to do this
but you can pluck out each individual hair with a tweezer
it lasts as long as waxing
and if you keep your upper lip relaxed, it will not hurt at all
just do it a few times, you'll get the idea
