you will find that on most camp sites all the other campers are more than willing to help you no mater what the problem may be so I would say it is VERY SAFE to go camping in this country and abroad

I've camped all my life, and I still have most of my fingers left. It's pretty safe...

OK, seriously - it's safe as long as you have some common sense, and don't do anything stupid. Don't put your tent under a dead tree where limbs could fall off. Don't make a fire if the weather is dry. Don't hike or camp in a known bear area. Take precautions to filter or purify your water if you don't have a clean source.

If you're not sure how to do this, go with someone who knows how to do this. Go to a state park, and camp out of your car, rather than backpacking. Don't try to take every possible thing you can think of - travel light, and you'll enjoy it better.

Camping is a blast, and it can be just as safe as staying home. Or it can be just as dangerous - but that depends on how smart and sensible you are.

Totally depends. Going to a campsite as we often have in the UK (toilets, showers, tapped water etc.) probably fairly safe. Spending your days on top of K2 with just a bivi bag and a pepsi-can stove, not so.

Equipment should be suited to your tasks, environment and skill-level. Do not take an axe for instance unless you know how to use it. (It's a lot more than just swing it at a chunk 'o wood -- no, really it is!) Quality f gear is an influence upon safety too.

Any type of camping can be either quite safe, or rather dangerous, even at an actual campsite. Of course, the same applies at home; if you leave the gas going on the stove without lighting it for instance, it's dangerous.

My one-sentence answer would be this:
It is not, so long as you stay within your physical, mental and skill limits.

if you mean like camping in a tent of trailer. then yes it is safe as long as you do the right things like, take garbage and secure it don't leave it by the door and make sure food is the same way.

With camping, it all depends on your location, supplies, endurance, and the people you're surrounded with. If you have the proper experience and/or someone who has experience and the right supplies, it can prove to be a fun time.

Pretty safe if you take precautions. Never leave food out in the open always keep it in sealed containers. Common sence things.
