Canned and frozen fruits and vegetables can actually be better for you nutritionally than fresh produce. They're usually processed when nutrient content is at its peak- right after they're harvested. The longer a green vegetable sits on a truck or in the supermarket, the lower its vitamin C content.

This depends on your standard for the WORD "fresh"
The produce I put in my frig is fresh.
It has been on the market produce shelf a week.
In storage in boxes in the back room a week.
Two days in a refer truck ,,Making the deliveries to the stores.
Less that a week in the wholesale warehouse .
One -two days in the ranch warehouse.
And a day from the field to the warehouse.
Of course,, I could be wrong and the produce fairy picks the stuff overnight and presto Fresh From The Garden
