when talking about digital cable, what is a box?

Probably the set top box. With digital cable you need a set top box that you rent from the cable company or you need a TV that supports the sim card(I think that is what they call it) that allows you to decode the digital signal.

it looks like a DVD player it the mane thing that connect to your TV it like a DVD player Cu's with out it you cant watch TV like a DVD player cant watch a DVD with a DVD player hop i am some help
