God gave Lot's wife a direct command not to do something and out of desire for earthly things she deliberately disobeyed. I do not think that God condoned what Lot's daughters were doing, we do not know if he punished them or not since they are not mentioned agian. Just because God does not send down immediate punishment does not mean he condones what is being done. There are many rapists, abusers and prostitutes and they do not have immediate punishment. We will all, believers and non-believers alike, stand before God on judgement day. If we have accepted Jesus then he will see his son in us and we will not be judged, but if you have turned away from God and decided not to accept him then you will be judged. The beauty in this is that there is no sin(except blaspheming against the HOly Spirit, which is usually done when one has become hard hearted and has turned away from God too many times)too big that Jesus cannot wash clean! JUst as we will have to answer for the things we have done-if we are not saved- any and all unbelieving people will be as well.

Lot's daughters sinned. Lot's wife turned her back on God.(She,in her heart desired the world more than God). I do not think the judgement was simply due to disobedience.

Lot's wife did something that was in direct conflict with God's warning. Lot's daughters did something out of desperation, since there were no other available men.

Let me just answer this one question for now, since you posted a similar one earlier, and I've had some time to think about it.

When we read the Bible, it's not just a bunch of nice--and not so nice-- stories. These stories have an APPLICATION for our lives. That's why we need to read the Bible prayerfully and not just like any other text book.

Here are two applications that I see from this story:
1. God told the family to flee the destruction ahead; and even during the flight Lot was arguing with the angels on where to flee. So, they didn't really want to leave. Lot's wife looked back longingly to all she possessed there. She hadn't made a clear cut from her old life.
Jesus warns about looking back in Luke 9:61-62
"Still another said, "I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back..." Jesus replied, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and LOOKS BACK is fit for service in the kingdom of God." "
(It's like trying to drive forward while looking out the back window.)
If you want to follow God's way looking back will always lead to your downfall. Looking back to old philosophies you've held, practicing old habits, etc.

2. Through one of Lot's daughters the start of the tribe of Moab was born. Let me tell you about one famous person from the tribe of Moab, Her name is Ruth (you can read her story in the book of Ruth). Here is a woman willing to leave her people and follow the God of her mother-in-law. And God rewards her by her becoming Boaz's wife. Boaz was the father of Obed, Obed the father of Jesse, and Jesse the father of King David.

Now let's fastforward to Matthew 1. Here the geneology of Jesus is recorded. Among all the male names four female names are mentioned:

1. Tamar, a woman who had intercourse with her father-in-law. You can read her story in Genesis 38.

2.. Rahab, a prostitute (see her story in Joshua 2) She believed in the living God,showing this by her actions, and she and her familly were the only ones saved when Jericho was destroyed.
3. Ruth
4. Bathsheba, the woman King David committed adultery with.

This is the geneology of Jesus, a background of all kinds of sexual sins. The fact is, there was no pure line for Jesus to come from. And if you and I would look back to our geneologies, we might find some hair-raising stories as well.

The amazing thing is that Jesus came into this cesspool of all kinds of sins-- to save us out of it.
"Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus IS NOT ASHAMED to call them brothers." Heb. 2:11

Jesus is not ashamed to make you His brother, no matter what your upbringing or your present sinful life style. His goal is to take you as you are and make you holy as He is.

But remember: You need to cut the ties with your old life, if you want to move forward to know God and ENJOY A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM.

Lot's daughters didn't get a "free pass" for anything. We simply aren't told what became of them.

What makes you think they did?
Read the whole story, and you will see what influence the city had on Lot and his family.
Not a pretty picture.

It's a man's man's man's man's world.

Just look at any middle eastern faith (Jewish, Christian or Muslim). Men have had the better of the deal in each case.

It didn't really happen. The story is allegory.

Bad fiction.
I've often wondered how they condone this.
