Hello everyone. I have an appointment to have my two lower wisdom teeth removed (my uppers have already been removed from the dentist); but the soonest anyone can get me in is July 10th. That's a month away :( I have major swelling on the right side of my face, around my wisdom tooth and around my jaw bone :( I can't chew anything so I got slim fast and it hurts to just talk. I've been taking Tylenol and using orajel, neither seems to be working. the orajel will work for maybe ten minutes and it's worn off. Please give me any suggestions... I'm pretty desperate!

Try ice. Put a piece of ice on your gum just below the wisdom tooth. It'll temporary numb it.

There isnt much else you can do except see your doctor to see if there is anything oral or topical he can prescibe you.
If I were you, I'd keep calling around for dentists that may be available sooner. Explain the pain that you are in. Also see if you can be on a cancellation list. That way if someone cancels their app't you can take it instead. Persistance is everything when you're in pain.
