Yes I think Jeff Gordon is on his way to becoming the best Nascar driver of all time. He has a great team, Crew Chief, Pit Crew, and Owner that should get some credit too. Its gotta be hard to always be up front in a race, and Jeff Gordon is always there. We all need to face it, Jeff Gordon is a great driver!

Ok, the kid that said Jeff Gordon sucks is obviously on crack or something. Do any of you that say he will never be the greatest or isn't the greatest driver even wacth nascar?! Jeff Gordon has 79 career wins, 223 top fives, 299 top tens, an average finish of 12.4, and not to mention that he has four championships and is currently in the lead by 242 points. The only reason anyone will ever say he sucks or will never be the greatest is only saying that because they don't want him to or they are a DE sr fan. Just admitt that Jeff Gordon is the greatest driver out there and he will someday be the best. You may say, "oh he'll never get 7 championships." Bullshit! get that joint out of your mouth and face the facts, he will get 7 championships possibly eight. There's no boubt about that. Own up to the truth, Jeff Gordon is the greatest driver out there and he will be the greatest someday.

By the way the Name is Jeremy McArthur.

Some already think he is. Everyone that races against him or has raced against him says that he is great. Darrel Waltrip has recieved much controversy over the fact that he stated once that he felt Gordon might be THE best. (lots of people hate him now too, go figure). As for my opinion, if somehow, you could place Richard Petty, Dale Sr., David Pearson and Jeff Gordon in identical cars during all four of their primes....I just feel Gordon would emerge victorious. We can never do that so all we can do is speculate who is, or was, the best. As for basing it on championships, people would deny he was the best if he won 10 championships or if he never won another. That's just the way it is.

Jeff will get about nine or ten races won this year. I think he will win the next three races in a row to be honest. Once he gets his eight championship then he will be mentioned as the best Nascar driver but I dont know.

I feel that nobody can ever match Richard Petty. And there were some great drivers that never really got any notice. David Pearson, the Allison Brothers, Bill Elliot, Cale Yarbourgh, Bobby Isaac Just to name a few. But I thinlk that The Dale Earnhardt so - called legend is about done. Gordon will way surpass anything Sr. did and he will do it with alot more class.

The endless best ever debate will never be won. Everybody has their reasons for their pick for best ever and with the different eras in racing you can only compare drivers within their time. Gordon is certainly one of the top 5 drivers of any era and right up there with Sr for the top one in the modern era. Depending on how he finishes his career he will definitely be in these arguments for a long time, possibly forever. I think David Pearson was the best driver of all time but it's something you can't "prove".

He certaining has the talent. Even DAle SR. said once that he ws the next big one. It just all depends on whether or not Nascar officials will alow it. They have their favorites and don't mind any attempt to hide. That's why they came up with this stupid chase bull. So they could change the points around to name whomever they pleased.

He will have a real hard time beating the popularity and reputation of Dale Sr. and the 200 win record and history of the King. But he certainly will be among the top drivers when he is done.

p.s. and, I am not a fan of his either.

Gordon is one of the best but he will never be the best. "The King" will always have that honor. And unless he gets eight championships most people will always believe "the Imtimadator" is better. Even then he probably wont get the recognition he deserves.

He may be a good driver, but I doubt he'll get the all time best NASCAR driver title. IMO, Dale Sr. is the best, but others can say it's Petty.
