Have you listened to the ending? Like 30 times, as I have in the past 5 minutes? I've been doing this for years, mind you. If there is a heaven then Brian, Carl & Bruce are certainly singing the harmonies there.
And one more thing: David Crosby's voice on "Mr. Tambourine Man" is absolutely gorgeous. I love that man. Just thought I'd throw that in. ;-)

Ummm, Brian Wilson and Bruce Johnston are still alive. Carl Wilson died of lung cancer in Feb. of 1998.

What about George Harrison's lamentation on "My Sweet Lord"? Does that just not transcsend disbelief and synthesize a deep yearning to meet the Lord and be one with Him? I can feel the devoution drip from his lyrics and momentarily hope that in death he has found his sweet Lord.
