You are likely losing inches and not pounds right away. You are building muscle mass as you lose fat. Muscle weighs more than fat making it seem like the scale won't budge. Keep it up, the weight will come off. It's only been a week...healthy weight loss is around 2 lbs a week when it does start melting off. If you lose 10 pounds in a week, it's likely to be water weight and will come right back on.

The truth is while doing cardio will help you lose calories. Thats where it stops. You have to lift weights to lose weight faster. lifting weights does not only make you lose calories it makes your metabolism work faster for a whole 24 hours .So your eating healthy GOOD. However there is almost no protein in that diet where is the meat? like chicken or fish. where are the nuts? Did you know that a high protein intake will make your body more thermogenic and make you lose more weight? Special k cereal is crap throw it away. Buy cereal from a company like natures path that has whole grains and nothing is refined. which will make you more full for longer and help you lose weight faster because of how it is digested. Also hate to say it your not eating enough. If your actually doing all those classes and working out you need to eat more. Just workout harder have a diet with a lot more protein and a few hundred more calories like 350 or so and you will be on your way...........by the way the reason i state you need to eat more is because the key to losing weight and keeping it off is MUSCLE . Muscle needs so many more nutrients and calories. You first need to build the muscle with more protein and calories then the muscle will reward you by making your metabolism a lot faster and help you absorb and digest food a lot easier.

First of all, there are 3500 calories in a pound. Therefore, you would have to burn 3500 MORE calories than you take in to lose a single pound. You will NOT see results in a week. Starting cardio and weight training exercises is a great thing, but do not plan on seeing any major results for a couple of months! You cannot get fat overnight, and you can surely not get thin overnight. Keep your workouts to about 60 minutes also as anything longer than that and you are starting to strain your body which in turn releases certain chemicals that are bad for your body and your recovery from the workout.

Don't worry, you are on the right track.

Loosing weight should never ever ever be a crash course undertaking.

If you are at the gym lifting weights and doing lots of cardio and have yet to lose a pound there many angles of weight loss you need to consider.

First, Diet.....what are you eating and how much of it are you eating. Low calorie, low fat diets married with exercise are more likely to get you the results you want than a crash course diet that will only hurt your body and reinforce bad habits. Eat lots of fruits and veggies, 6 to 8 servings a day. Lots of fish, and leaner meats. Stay away from fried food at all costs, easier said than done I know. Smaller portions, but don't starve yourself. Drink lots of water.

Second, Exercise.... One reason you might not have lost any weight is because you have begun to trade muscle for fat in your body. It takes a little time for your body to start to burn more fat than gained muscle size and strength. You should be working on the core muscles in your body, do lifts that will work the largest muscles in your body, Legs, tummy, chest, arms and shoulders, butt, back...etc. The reason is, the larger the muscle you work, the more it takes to make that muscle move, more energy=more calories burned. I see people all the time in the gym doing highly specialized work-outs trying to lose weight.....but are ignoring the core muscles of their body..they see almost no progress.

Keep up the cardio, it will help your body charge up your metabolism, cardio in the morning is better for you than cardio at night. Simply because if you do cardio in the morning it will program your body to be more energetic throughout the day.

Keep in mind, have fun with it, eat the things you like that are good for you, and do exercise you think is fun....you are 100 times more likely to get that 10 pounds to stay off.

Good Luck.

if you are working out everday and you do push yourself give some more time. you wont see a lot of results on one week i would say give it a month and then start panicking. Just make sure that you do work out right and when you sweat it isnt just water weight. Just give your body more time.
When i started to work out i was 148 and still for about a week (worked out 4 days a week) however over the course of the time my body started to register the fat loss and now im 147 and body fat was 18 to 16-17%

Well, this isn't gonna make that much sense to you, but belive me, it's the truth. You shouldn't be working out every night. Space it out. Workout around three times a week focusing on certain muscle groups so that you aren't overtraining yourself, which to me, seems like what you're doing. When you overtrain, your body basically just gives up and actually hurts you more than it helps you. In addition, you're diet is more important than anything you're doing in the gym. You should probably read up on the glycemic index, and eat alot of protein, fiber, and good healthy carbs. Hope this helps you out!

You should probably look at what you're eating. If you check out www.mypyramid.gov, you can make an account and enter all of the things you eat, and what activities you do. After you do that for a week or two, you should get an idea of what you need to work on.

It's really a nice site. I used it for a project in school.

Probably because the muscle you're building is balancing the weight you're losing doing cardio. Don't worry you'll still slim down but your weight might not drop as quickly at first since muscle weighs more than fat.

You are probably losing fat but gaining muscle. Therefore, I wouldn't be surprised if you even gain a couple of pounds. Drink a lot of water and don't work out so hard.

You are turning fat into muscle. You have to reduce your calorie intake to loose weight. So cut down on amount of food you eat and also the type of food you eat. Count your calories and make sure your intake is less than 2000 and you will loose weight.
