She needs to eat a balanced diet. She should not eat foods high in fat. Some people with gallstones are bothered by spicy foods, she'll have to just watch over time and see if spices bother her and if so, then cut down on spices.

some people have gallstones and don't even know it and they never bother them.

By the way, large gallstones can stay there forever and not bother a person, that was the case for me, but then I got a new one that was tiny and was trying to get in my bile duct, that's when I ended up with problems and had to have mine removed.

Low fat. No greasy foods. No onions, corn or other foods that are hard to digest. Foods that are harder to digest sit in the stomach longer and the longer a food sits in the stomach, the more bile is produced to digest it. No spicy food. You essentially don't want to eat foods that will produce an excess of bile so eat the boring stuff. Plain baked potato, no butter. Rice. Anything that is easy to digest. Limit caffeine, also.
