Since this is a first date...KEEP IT SIMPLE!
The restaurant choice is very important since you would like the evening to be romantic. The Melting Pot would be a great choice since they offer private tables, fondue dinners for two and an intimate atmosphere. Other than the restaurant, be a gentleman and open doors. take her to a nice dinner in a peaceful place like a late picnic in the park and watch the sun go down, and then see what she would like to do, maybe a walk or something but dont ever put a limit on a girl you really like.

Take her for a nice dinner, make sure you open all the doors for her and take her chair out for her to sit down. Then go for a nice walk and watch the sunset/stars! Definitly romantic...not too expensive...just try to avoid the cheesy lines/music/gifts...planned romance is corny...just let it happen naturally!

I've always fancied a horse and carriage ride around a beautiful park, I am not sure of the cost though, and check with her as some people are terrified of horses lol...

act like a gentlemen and flatter her
be yourself.
its not that hard. Just get her a flower and take her to dinner. if you are super nice then she will feel beautiful. Just dont make yourself seem OBSESSED. that'll never work.
