**I used to be a catholic and wondered how could a religion be so lenient?
People were getting drunk and committing adultery on Friday, going to confession on Saturday and communion on Sunday.
They we not punished in any way.
They thought birth control was worthy of punishment...they wouldn't let me baptize my twins if I refused to stop the pill. I asked them if I have 15 kids will the church support them?
The priest said no.
I have learned through Bible study that there are real consequences for willfull sin.
That drunkeness is forbidden
adultery is also
and that we should approach parenthood in a responsible manner. Only having the number of children that will allow the family to afford and still have a spiritual home.
Our first obligation is to serve Jehovah. **

Yes. Reason this way:
Suppose that you have a teacher who only accepts your work/homework/quizzes, etc. in a special format. Without this format, the work that you've done is useless to you passing the class and making a good grade.
What do you do? Do you turn in the assignments within the special format and pass the class? Or do you refuse to follow the teacher's rules, turn in the assignments any way you choose and hope that the teacher changes his mind and accepts you work?
It's the same way with God. His high standards have not changed, no matter how much the world's changed. (Malachi 3:6) It would make sense then that there would be one correct way to worship and give him honor.
What religion you follow and what you put faith in is still your choice no matter what points I bring out. After a careful study of the Scriptures, world events and actions of other faiths worldwide, I chose to be a Jehovah's Witness. Some will choose to call me crazy, saying that I'm 'this' or I'm 'not that' but I'm going to concentrate on serving him and not concerning myself too much with Satan's world.

The IMPORTANT decision is which God you are going to accept as your savior. Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
"Lord and Saviour" was found 4 times in 4 verses in the New Testament.
2 Peter 1:11 - For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 2:20 - For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
2 Peter 3:2 - That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
2 Peter 3:18 - But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

its not the religion that matters. Its the beleif that you carry. From what i beleive Religion came into being so that we have a definte way of living life. It fills us up in places where we are empty. It gives us an opportunity to be more disiplined. For me Religion is not the rituals that we do but the disiplin that comes into our life for good.

while i grew to become into searching for a faith i in my view did no longer understand what i wanted, yet I knew i did no longer prefer what I had earlier. Now 26 years down that cramped, winding street i'm thoroughly happy with my decision. i understand God, his son, that I relatively have a objective, and a desire I in no way dreamed existed. i'm nicely fed spiritually and function a international huge kinfolk. Happiness and contentment are important in my view. To me precise information is likewise important as i prefer to do the nicely suited factor in appealing God and his son. It ability my existence.

I was born Jewish and so was my late husband. we never knew that God had a name. we found out the God does have a name and it is Jehovah. we also found out that if we follow Jesus Christ and do what he commanded at Matthew 28 verse 19 and 20, we can live forever on a Paradise earth. and if we should die we will be resurrected here on earth. I am really looking forward to seeing my husband again and all my love ones. knowing that they are only sleeping until Jesus wakes them up.

In the new testament Jesus says, " I am the way the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the father (god) but by me. Our way to heaven, our connection w/ god is through Jesus christ. If you accept him into your heart and live life according to his teachings, you have chosen the right "religion"
Other religions, catholic, presbyterian, methodist, etc. are just names of organizations that are man made rules and regulations telling you how to worship god.
Christianity is freedom in Christ. We are not tied down by man made rules and regulations. We can worship God/Jesus freely in any way we want. I attend a non denominational church where the sermons are bible based - especially the new testament and Jesus' teachings. No rituals like holy water, no reading of man made words and kneeling or standing up then sitting down. No crossing of the heart etc. Just pure worship of the Lord.
I hope this helps.

No. They're all wrong. Maybe there IS a God, and maybe certain parts of certain religions are right, but they are all based off the ideas of people no less than 2000 years ago, and all have flawed logic because the people of those times were simply not as knowledgeable as people in these times.

It does not matter, as long as you are a good person. Most of the world's major religions stress the same points, they just say them differently: peace, charity, respect, etc.

Yes, it matters a great deal. You need to find a religion that teaches the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
