So what does everyone think about that? I need ideas. mjaybe some that would make a room look bigger. Oh and furniture layout ideas would be good too.

I would suggest that you go to paint stores and go over their suggestions. Home Depot has a really good spread right now of indoor suggestions. One of the phamplets has one on dusty rose pink and the colors that look good with it. And then they have others that you can pick by what type of colors you like such as cool tones etc. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks because you are the one that will be looking at it for quite awhile so you must pick something you really really like. I found a really nice comforter set-marked down-and then I went from it to pick my colors. No matter what I chose it just didn't look right so I picked a milk chocolate brown that didn't match anything. My friend, the decorator, came over and said that was the best choice of color and I still love it. How can you go wrong with a chocolate room. Also consider textures and designs with textures. My designer friend did her hall by layering two colors and it turned out to look like suede when she was done. There are so many great choices so go to the stores and look around. Peak at the magazines in the grocery store as you check out. Get your parents to take you. They will be amazed at how mature you are to want to look at other ideas so that you make an informed choice. Make it you.

The room will look bigger with a light color, and I don´t know how big your room is, but I had a HUGE room when I was in my early teens, and making all my furniture flat against the wall made the room perfect to do almost anything..I didn´t have a dresser though which made a lot more space. If you have a big closet, just hang everything up and get a box or 2 for underwear and socks:P

my suggestion is get to colors you like : like the cherry red and rose pink or cherry redor rose pink and charcoal black or grey(which ever you like best) and do either vertical stripes of the two alternating colors (like on the blue tape painters commericals) on all the walls or pick two colors and alternate walls like one black , one red, one black, one red.....or this would look cool you could do charcoal grey and paint rose pink flowers, and cherry red blossoms.....and get some bright red or pink or even red&pink striped curtains but make sure a lot of sun light can come in the room

Try faux painting. It's challenging, but very rewarding. You can add many different types of patterns and the selection of colors are vast. You can do everything from the Italian Venetian look to marble-like finishes... It's usally done in several steps, but even inexperienced users can be very successful at it. You can even add a gold glitter to it. There are "how-to" books at the book store or Home Depot or Lowes. Good luck, but please look into it, I don't think you'll be too disappointed.

This is a good website to start with, you can see your "virtual" room.

A good rule of thumb is to make a room look larger use light colors. Use a lighter color on the walls and accent with the darker colors.

Good luck and have fun! There are soooooo many options out there for decorating.
