They are afraid that we will start persuading their followers to stop acting as mindless sheep and actually start thinking for themselves and accept reality.
I wonder if this could be the same Colson as the self-hating troll we have here on R&S that goes by that name.

Oh yeah - cuz all us atheists are out there with guns and bombs, killing in the name of nothingness...
This man needs a firm kick to the crotch. And a lombotomy. His religion is way more hateful than Islam - as evidenced by his own hate speech.

Just as it says in the article. They believe atheism is out to destroy their belief system. By the simple fact we don't believe is scary to a lot of people.

Basically what is said in that article is that ungodliness is increasing in America and Islamic radicals are not going away. Islam will become an increasing problem as well as atheists pushing for abortion, homosexuality, hate crimes law which tolerates almost anything. When we tolerate everything, then our society is doomed. We promote ungodliness, wickedness and lawlessness.
Afraid is not the correct word. They are wise to the increasing attempt to destroy everything Christian which has been Satan's goal from day one.

I think they're afraid of atheists because if they're exposed, it would cause their brains to actually begin to think on their own. That, to a Baptist, is the most frightening idea ever conceived. Believe me, I've been Baptist.

I don't know why this surprised you to be honest. As for militant atheism we all know about the effect that Hitler and all did to us once.
Good Luck!!!

They said atheism is form of extremism.
And it's christianity that has murdered around 67,12,332 women and children so far.
Are you kidding?

I think they feel that atheists with strong views may err on the side of promoting "freedom from religion" rather than "freedom of religion" in legal cases. I hope they aren't afraid of atheists -- they've read the book and they know who wins in the end.
