Why do people call us racist for taking a stand against illegal immigration?? Granted there might be a few which are racist, but the majority of the people who take the stand against illegal immigration are against the illegal aspect of it. I don't hear anyone stating immigration should stop. It is all the ILLEGAL immigration should stop. I along with others don't feel people should be rewarded for breaking the laws of this country. Why as usa citizens should we have to follow the laws or be punished, why should we work hard and pay taxes to support the country when illegals do not have to, and why should we go to school, educate ourselves, and work hard to make our life better when illegals don't have to??? I swear, i speak out against illegal immigration everyday, but it is against the illegal part. I have no problem with legal immigration. We are a country based on immigrants. But people need to abide by and respect the laws of this country. Amnesty is not the answer!!

Racist is what they use to intimidate all those who are against illegal immigrate. It make us shut up and not speak out. So, I being Hispanic also want to let you know that I am with you and we, Hispanic, white, black, and all other legal immigrants need to speak loud and clear to let the bozos in Washington how we feel and not give amnesty to illegal.

I don't think that being against illegal immigration is racist. I believe that anyone who lives in this country should abide by its laws like any other citizen.
There are, however, some people who take the illegal immigration argument to a racist level with personal attacks on the hispanic culture. I've heard it.

I understand what you are saying. You say you’re not racist, I believe you. But what you are saying is incorrect. I understand that you say it's illegal. They are breaking the law. But we also break the laws. Unless you always cross on the crosswalk, never go over any speed limit, never broken the law regardless of how small in infraction is. The system for legal immigration does not work. The idea behind what people want to do is not the right way. I don't know where you found your information. But it's wrong. The illegals pay taxes but they never file tax returns. So they pay more then any of us. The illegals come to this country to do the same thing you do. To have their kids go to school, educate them selves, and work hard to make their life better. For some strange reason you don't think, illegals do nothing but take our taxes dollars. But the truth is that they contribute as much as we do. And they work harder then most citizens. Because they are thankful for what they have, when most of us take it for granted. These people break the law so they can make a better life for their family. They want the same thing we have. I'm not saying there aren’t a few bad apples. But imagine risking your life and the life of your family to come into this country.

But like you said they are breaking the laws of this country. But look at the reasons they do it. We as citizen break the laws also and we break them. Because we are in a hurry, because we don't want to walk all the way to the end of the block to use the cross walk. We break the laws because it would be convenient for us. They do it to have a better life for them and their family. Until the government comes up with a better process of immigration. Amnesty is nice. But it won't solve the problem.

When people fight for the illegal immigrants. They are fighting for the humane right to be in this country. A county that fights for their citizens, a land of opportunity for anyone who works hard. Imagine if you couldn’t leave your house, your car, any of your positions to your family. They only way for your family to keep it is to pay a huge fine for each item. This is only one of the few things these illegals are getting a way from.
We break the law because it’s inconvenient. They break it, because they want a better way of life.

They just don't hear/read the word "ILLEGAL" but rather apply it to all immigrants. I don't care if they call me racist cause I know that the first to use the "racist card" is usually the most racist of all.

Being called racist for your views on illegal immigration is the only bastion of the pro-illegal supporters since they have no valid arguments for illegals to be here. They can call me a racist all they want to, because I know this isn't about race. It's about the laws we have and enforcing them. Using thye racist card in this argument only spotlights the ignorance of those using it.

People say all sorts of stuff, but that doesn't mean it's justified. Unfortunately, nowadays, in our country the validity of your argument does not affect the credibilty of your argument. You just have to say it really loud and repeat it many times.

Some of the people are called racist because they specificially target people of a certain race of nationality. Now in these situations this labeling would be called for.

Edit: I'll just like to point out that I am an Asian immigrant who have suffered in my time, and am still suffering from xenophobia and racism, but the fact is the labelling that is happeing in this situation is mostly uncalled for.

No, Australia is basically like the US purely with out the religion or black and white racism, poverty, backwards previous regulations, stereotyping or bias slender minded opinionated human beings. we don't use our freedom of speech, to discriminate different electorate or stay in separatist neighbourhoods, purely grasp out with purely different expats from the place we've been born or foreign places hyphen ourselves. we are all foreign places nationality's, from all corners of the globe, from each race, coloration and u . s . in the international. So whilst somebody say's all Australians are racists, they don't comprehend they are announcing each race of individual in the planet is racist. As we are actually not one race, we are one nationality with many cultures.

It is very easy to pull out and deal the race card.
It is very hard to justify amnesty.
It's about not rewarding illegal aliens and placing their wants before the needs of our poor, homeless, elderly on subsistence levels of fixed income.
It's about recognizing the accomplishments of legal immigrants and rewarding their choice to enter our nation legally.
Even our elected politicians are playing the race card. Dianne Feinstein and Ken Salazar are two who have done so.

Some of those who accuse us, are racist themselves. THey make broad generalization of our people. Thats racism point blank. I think some if it derives from racism they suffer. Mexico is a far more racist society. It's based on old Spanish colonial time. The country developed the belief skin color is important. Resentment from those who are lighter skin , who are the elite in mexico, mistreat them, they equate thsoe with lighter skin in Mexico, with caucasians in AMerica and attack the Americans in a futile attempt to get back those in Mexico. Also when some of the illegal immigrant come here, they are angry how the employers mistreat them, and lsh out.
