For the past 10 years or so, the archdiocese rents a large convention hall for a day and a half. They bring in world renown speakers to talk on faith, theology, healing, etc. They have several sessions going on at a time (General track, Hispanic track, Teen track, Kids track, Deaf track, Vietnamese track, etc.). They offer Adoration and Confessions almost all day long. The whole thing starts and ends with a Mass. There is no charge for anything (except the convention hall makes you buy your food from their vendors).

Is this done elsewhere?

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles does something similar with its annual Religion Education Congress for three full days plus an extra Youth Day for high school students.

I think that sounds like a wonderful idea!

I don't believe the Archdiocese of Detroit does anything like that. However we do have some other awesome annual conferences here. There's an annual men's conference, annual women's conference, Call to Holiness Conference, etc. We really do have a lot of great opportunities here. I feel so blessed.

I wish it were done in every archdiocese! Atlanta's is very well-known and people travel to it from all over the country. I've spoken to some from my area who have done so, and I'm told it's the most worthwhile and edifying Catholic conference they've ever attended.

That sounds like a great event! Unfortunately, the Archdiocese of St. Louis does not have such an event. It is surprising to me that we don't have such a thing though, because St. Louis is a very Catholic city.
