i used to be a very jealous person, and it is was all down to my insecurity, i did tend to compeite with other people, which again is down to jealousy and down to insecurity.
it can be a human nature thing for some people.
however i am in love now and have been for a while and it has made me a more secure person and not so much jealous or competitive anymore

They want what others have, lets say that a guy who has a girlfriend, all of a sudden like 4 girls who never looked at him n that way now wants him. They don't like to see others be superior. They want the spot light.

Maybe just because they cant get off their own *** and do what ever it is the person their jealous of does. Or maybe their not in touch with their own inner qualities.

It comes from fear of losing their partner I don't think it's something that should be argued about reassuring your partner that you love him/her is a very nice thing to do. And if you provide enough reassurance from your heart you could very likely eliminate the jealousy

Jealousy is a sign of an insecure person, and lack of real love. Real love is wanting what's best for your partner, even if it's not you.

Jealousy is indeed insecurity and a lot of it stems from things that have happened in their past.

The great thing is people can overcome those insecurities ^^
