First, let's look at the Quran:
"Say: I find not in the message received by me by inspiration any (meat) forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be dead meat, or blood poured forth, or the flesh of swine, for it is an abomination or, what is impious, (meat) on which a name has been invoked, other than Allah's. But (even so), if a person is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits, thy Lord is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful" [5]Quran 6:145
"He has only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and any (food) over which the name of other than Allah has been invoked. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits, then Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful"

Bcuz I don't live around anything that's halal.I have to go on a 45-50 minute drive to get to a halal meat shop which sells crappy meats. It's so much easier, convenient & a lot less time consuming to just go on a 15 minute drive to the local super market. I know but it's really not up to me.I don't eat meat anyway, I only eat chicken occasionally & neither my family nor my husband care about if it's halal or haram after hearing a sheikh say " you do what you can, if there's halal then okay if not then Allah has made the meats slaughtered by the ppl of the book halal to us"....maybe not exact wording but pretty close.

As salamu aleikoum! I'm in the same situation in Romania. There are very few muslims in my country and there arent any halal meat shops. Seafood can work for a while, but it can not replace chicken or beef. I wait more answers to see what others will have to say.

Hi...
I'm in the same situation... since all the meat shops in our state closed down...
5:5 (Surah Ma'edah, verse 5)
It says... the food of Ahl Al-Kitab is halal for u...
So go Kosher...
Also... you could eat seafood... eggs... dairy... stuff like that...
EDIT:
Muslims have to say Bismillah before every meal... it sends away the Shaitan... so they wouldn't be feasting with him...
